What if you can't wear a costume but want to help anyway?

You may or may not be aware but we here at Madhatterr's in Lamar, Missouri are taking part in Free Comic Book Day 2010. This is a yearly celebration of the art form which is classic storytelling and artwork that kids and adults have enjoyed for many years now.
Here at the Downtown Mall we're going to be having games, contests, free comic books and ... of course, Comic Book Characters! That's right, we have people coming dressed as comic book characters to greet little kids, take pictures etc. However... one can never have enough of these things so: we're offering you a chance to help us and help your character here at MGP!
If you come out to Free Comic Book Day in the costume of a comic book character we'll award you a minimum of 25 player points and up to a maximum of 50 player points for spending time greeting children and playing the part of your comic book character.
It's not a hard task, handing out balloons, waving at cars as they pass, encouraging folks to come in and have a good time (YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO SPEAK... JUST BE FRIENDLY)
50 player points will be awarded to those who come in full on costumes from costume shops or bought online (ie: authentic / official licensed products or those that are custom made with great time and attention to detail - I know some people do this as a hobby) while those who piece something together will receive less (going down to 25.)
So come on down and help us promote this great celebration!

Hmmm not sure what Jim might need but, I'll get back to you if there is anything else I can think of. I'm sure open to suggestions for forms of entertainment that we can do for the kids and adults who can show up.
Right now I've got the essay contest we're hosting for the kids, we're doing a marvel trivia contest, costume contest going to be happening at some point during the day, a raffle, and of course free comic books for anyone who come by. However... if someone has a particularly creative idea for another form of entertainment and we have someone to run it for us while we're doing all the other stuff we have to do that day... there might be a PP award in it for you.![]()

You could do a create-a-character contest. Have the kids design and draw their own superhero or villain and describe who he is and what he does. You could have prizes for best hero and best villain and maybe others like most creative or funniest. You could even hang up the drawings in the windows at the store to help promote for the next time you do stuff for the kids down the road. Just an idea.

what if we don't have a full costume, but a cool Comic Tee Shirt? (or a Free Comic Book Day shirt from last year?)

Saturday May 1st!
We'll be having our friends Darth Vader, Storm Troopers, Ghostubsters, Roshek and more there so Wolvie would definately be a welcome sight!
As for coming out in a FCBD shirt - I'll leave that for Jim to comment on. Shawn, great idea btw, expect PP for that one!
