Thread: A Stranger in Town... (OOC: this is first post andd im new to playing online, would love feed back)

Corin happens to be walking past the theater in downtown when she hears a familiar voice. She stops suddenly, looking past the couple she see's someone she hasn't seen for years, Jano. She shakes her head as she looks at him.

Sure seems like Lamar is the place for your past to catch up on you.

She thinks back to a time she had spent in Italy, and the Carnival where she had met him. She leans back against the wall, waiting to see if he will notice her...or even remember her.

Maharet comes stroling by on her way to eternal echos recording studio .

The man has a small crowd around him now there seems to be a rhythm to the players and the game almost like he is conducting. you could almost hear the music of smiles and laughter as the players lose dollar after dollar with out care.
Suddenly the rhythm slows to a waltz as the dealer looks up.

"Come one, come two, please don't be shy... place your bets. Or if you like I could read your..."
(the dealers smile changes in the slightest of ways.)

"The smell Sea is on you my lady,,, and hear the sweet sounds of Carnival in your step... care to dance?"

He looks fondly and deeply into Corin eyes...

"I simply ask that we both leave with everything we bring?"
"What do you all say, should the lady show us the steps to life, love. and all that is good? he motions to the crowd to start clapping a beat then hops the makeshift table and bows with an extended hand.

Corin gets a half grin and walks up to the man.

"And what is the game?"

A slight sadness falls as the player once again steps behind the cardboard..
The gathering of people boo a little trying their best to console the mans lost spirit.

"The game is Three-card Monte, also known as the Three-card marney, Three-card trick, Three-Way,(He raises his eyebrows at the joke) Three-card shuffle, Triplets, or my favorite Find the lady or Follow the lady..."

Smiling again. "pay as you play, player is the highest bidder, bid is $20"

"Well, I'm sure that I can spare the $20."

She pulls $20 from her pocket and lays it down on the table.

"Let's see what damage you do."

She winks at him, but only does so when the crowd is watching him and not her.

With a fluid hypnotic movement from left to right and a sweet story the man slides the old cards forth and back...

"Fallow the red Lady my lady beware the blackjack he chases the girl that wants the her King of hearts.."

(showing each card as he mentions them, the man never looks down at the magic he does he always looks to the crowd with a smile bringing them in)

"and you miss care to play next?" (looking to the beautiful Maharet)

"i will take your bet sir" and has her money ready and winks at the young man .

Lisette peers down the alley and smiles, 'Something interesting at last?' she chuckled and walked slowly up to the group, the beads in her many braids clicking and the chains on her pants clinking.

She looked at Corin and watches the others thoughtfully, enjoying the random game of chance more because of the lightness of it.
