Renata walks dressed in her best as normal (( http://www.edressme.com/sexy-sn1050-1.html )). After Emma places her drink order she as well orders a drink " I will take a scotch on the rocks. Thank you." She nods her head and watches Emma as she speaks.

Looking around she notices the drinks being delivered and accepts hers with a slight smile. Taking a sip she can't help but give a slight chuckle when Emma mentions poker." It's funny you mention poker. I used to play poker 2-3 nights a week. How I love the game..the joy of the gamble, the money. " She pauses a moment and takes a sip of her drink again " It always had a certain feel to it."

Emma gets a wicked grin and takes a sip of her drink. "You know... maybe you should start hosting the poker nights again... here at Bacchus. I'd love to see old man Cahill's favorite past time taken over by a woman in the very place he use to enjoy women not coming. Hell, I'll buy you a bottle of the best scotch and cigars for use during the events if you do." She laughs heartily.

"God that would put a real bug up his backside. Cahill and Cici use to always butt heads at those damn things. Loved to watch them go but I really didn't have the cash to keep up when they were rolling high against one another." Emma sighs whistfully. "The city could use a dose of the good old days. Maybe it would be a great way for you to start to find your place here and get to know some folks outside of your interactions with Constantino at your side."

Renata smiles back at Emma " You know..." pausing to take a sip " ..that might be a good idea. I would love to host a poker game like I used to in the old days." She looks at Emma with a serious look " So, what were the old days here like? Why did Cahill and Cici always but heads?"

Emma sighs and sits back against the beautiful red seating. "Well, it wasn't that they weren't friends... honestly they were, but your family and the Tower don't mesh well. Cahill was in command here in the city and that means he's got a lot of folks breathing down his neck. Hell, if Cross thinks things are chaos now... wait until some one from Europe calls him up and starts making demands and telling him how to do stuff." The corner of Emma's lip will turn upwards for a second.

"Buuuut... Cahill and Cici had to play the roles they were dealt I suppose. Rather like Constantino and I, publically we can be friendly but being friends would be unacceptable. I would lose credibility and Constantino would be suspected of doing something unspeakable to me to make me loose my good judgement. On the flip side of that is also the fact that having too close of friends in the Tower tends to make people on both sides ask questions... things like: how near are we to violating the agreements set down between our two groups in the past. A friendship, a true friendship between someone of the Tower and your family is a liability for both sides and I think Cici and Cahill knew that. Better to play up disliking one another and have a bit of friendly competition rather than have people questioning them at every turn."

"The trick seems to be to establish a role for yourself, if you don't mind the advice?" Emma pauses and waits to see if Renata is okay with advice and assuming she is, she continues. "Cici provided the service of gambling and loans to many kindred and he provided access to hard to find items too. His ties to the underworld made him invaluable to all of us and because of that fact no one REALLY wanted him out of the city. I think you and Constantino need to build yourselves up to be something more than the resident ghost-whisperers ... the sooner people owe you for more than just talking to the dead... the sooner they'll quit identifying you with a power they don't know anything about and can't control." She sips her drink again.

"Kindred fear something and they fight it... you got an advantage though, you're quiet... no one knows you... no one knows your powers... you could let them get to know the YOU that you want them to see long before they pass judgement on how scared of you they think they need to be. AND, with a pretty face like yours, that becomes infinately easier since so many around here think with their long-dead and useless body parts." Emma will laugh.

Renata sits back in the chair and sips on her drink while Emma speaks. Her jaw tenses slightly when Cross is mentioned but quickly relaxes as she listens to Emma more. " I am open to advice of any kind." She nods slightly as Emma continues on. She then laughs " well thank you for the complement." she pauses as to be thinking about what Emma said about the kindred getting to know the her she wanted them to know..with out thinking she gathers a slight grin on her face. After a second of thought she looks at her glass and notices its empty then looks back up at Emma " I think that is wonderful advice that should and will be taken into consideration." She offers a smile.

"Wanna go hit another location? Don't wanna wear this one out after all." She smiles. "The night is young after all." Emma waits for Renata's reply and if she agrees she will rise and pay for the drinks before moving on to their next stop.

Renata smiles and gives the ok " Where would you like to venture to next? " Renata stands and straightens out her dress...yet again messing with her hair to make sure it is all in place.
