Thread: The meaning of a phrase (Attn: Melissa) 9/7/09

Melissa is sitting on the dock with Dumpling, staring off across the lake quietly. Nothing seems particularly dangerous or wrong about the situation, just a gangrel enjoying the quiet of nature alone.

She looks around and finds a place to land, continuing to look around she makes sure no mortals are around. She shifts back to her natural form, walks out to Melissa, and stands there waiting to be acknowledged by her.

"You're Kharma, aren't you!" Melissa beams, her cherubic cheeks rounding into her eyes. "Sabre told me about you." She looks sad and into the water. "I miss Sabre... he use to buy me dresses and stop people from picking on me." She sighs.

*She smiles at Melissa when she first mentions Sabre, then her eyes fall to the ground as Melissa continues.*

"Yes, I am Kharma...I...I miss him too. He was a good man, he helped me out a lot too."

*She sits down next to Melissa, watching her.*

"I have a strange question for you."

"If I answer your question then I get to ask you one too, alright... pinky promise to be honest?" She offers her pink to you.

*Takes Melissa's pinky in hers and shakes on it.*

"Promise."

*She smiles at Melissa, but then looks down at the ground. She almost feels guilty for what she is about to say.*

"In the alley, the hawk, did you know that was me?"

*She looks back at Melissa.*

"I wasn't spying on you. I was asked to see what the Anarchs might be up to..."

"I knew it was a gangrel... you don't think that Cicero will be upset if he finds out I lied ... do you?" She looks a bit worried. "He's very strong and I don't want him to be mad at me too." She sighs and looks back to Kharma.

"I'm glad he did that to Eddie though. Eddie was a very bad man who hurt a lot of people. Do you suppose the Brujah will kill him for all the bad things he's done?" She quickly adds, "That's not my pinky swear question though! You don't have to tell me that if you don't wanna!"

"I don't think Cicero will find out, and if he does you can tell him you didn't know it was me specifically. But no, I don't think he will be upset. He's mad enough at the Anarchs right now, and I really don't think he will be mad at you."

*She smiles at Melissa.*

"I don't know what the Brujah will do, and I probably never will, not unless I tell him that it was me in the alley. I am sure the Brujah are mad enough to do something, and it looks like they have already started."

*She looks out at the lake, then back at Melissa.*

"So, what is your pinkey swear question?"
