It had been two days since Sabre had been released from the grasp of the Giovanni. The field he was dropped off in was where he slept the night of his release. He made no effort to leave the field that night, when he busted out of the wooden box, he just rolled out of it and sunk himself into the earth to rest and hide from the world. The weight of what had to be done sickened him to the point of not wanting to rise again.

He spent the second night in the woods, where he sought out nourishment in the form of a wayward buck of a deer. The feast was of no flair and he didn't even enjoy the hunt of his prey. Anyone knowing the way of the Gangrel could easily see that there was no thrill in his hunt and no pleasure in the victory. It would've been clear, that this animal was broken.

After he had fed, he spent all of his time wandering the woods, until it was almost time for sunrise. Only then did he begin making his way to his home. Even when he arrived at his home, he did not go in. Instead he made the swim to the center of the pond and sank himself into the island at the center of the pond. There he slept for another night of solitude.

When the sun set tonight, he rose from the earth and swam to the edge of the pond. He knew he couldn't hide forever, so he entered his home, grabbed the keys to his Jeep and headed for the Lake. Not even the wind blowing through his hair with the top dropped on the Jeep could give him a level of comfort. Even when he pushed the Jeep to its top speed on the way to the lake, he didn't find the thrill he had always felt when driving fast.

He parked the Jeep near the beach and trekked his way to the shore. Still wearing the clothes he had wore the past Saturday. A hole still in the chest of his undershirt and small splatters of blood from when he was staked and when he vomited the blood and water from his mouth when he was released from his torpored state. When he reached the shore, he sat down just out of reach of the water. He pulled his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms around them, and rested his forehead between his knees with his head down.

He recognizes the man from Saturday night, but doesn't know who he is. Part of him wanted to jump up and beat the hell out of him, but the broken side won out, realizing reacting violently was what got him where he was in the first place. He says quietly as he rights himself to sit up again, "What does it look like I'm doing?"

Reply by Spencre DeBoard on August 11, 2009 at 11:21pm Delete Anton looks at the man lying on the ground, "well to me it looks like your immitating a beached seal". he replies with a wry grin. moving back just a few steps more so as to be out of reach, just in case the man tried to strike for his discourtieous comment. "I know who you are but you do not know me". moves in slowly and cautiously. " I'm Anton DuBois, Pleased to stumbled upon you."

Reply by Jeremy Castro on August 11, 2009 at 11:26pm Delete Strangely, as much humor as Sabre heard in Anton's joke, a weak smile was all he could muster. He offers Anton his hands to shake hands. As they shake hands he introduces himself anyway, "I'm Sabre. Nice to meet you." He then lets his hand go and looks out over the water, watching the moon reflect off of it. He starts up again as soon as his gaze falls on the water and says, "What brings you out here?"

"well its such a beautiful night, i thought that i would walk around the lake and lose myself in the moon and stars, and then i found you." noticing that sabre had something on his mind, Anton asks " so why are you out here?, it seems pretty odd for you to just show up out of nowhere."

The sheer thought of why he was out there was enough to make him feel like he was going to explode or die at the same time. After a moment of pause he just says, "I came out here to think about what I have to do."

He just sits there for a long pause before asking him, "How do you break the heart of someone you can't bear to hurt?"

"or" Anton exclaims. "if you tell whose heart you intend to break i might be able to help you."
