"Here Comes A Regular" 10.15.2009 Attn: Amanda Winters
Alex Stone has much on his mind tonight. He enters the museum, breezing past the artwork he has come to love so very much. He absent-mindedly removes his hat and tosses in on an end table in the Atrium, plopping down into a plush chair. He slings his weathered satchel over the left side of the chair and digs around in it. Eventually, he pulls out an iPhone, punching in letters and numbers.
To: A. Winters
This is A. Stone. Would like to meet at the Atrium tonight, should you find yourself free.
After sending the message, he takes out a leather-bound journal and a jet-black pen. He pauses before opening the journal and writing.
Amanda recived the text while she was just waking up for the evening. She had no plans for the day. She was very surprised that Mr.Stone, or anyone else for that matter, wanted to see her. Amanda replyed with a not so suttle 'why?'. She then begins to get around for the day, all the while wondering if he wanted her as a friend or if he was being a harpy.
The all-to-familiar chime of a text message caused Alex to stop writing. He read the text, then set the phone down next to his hat, and closed his eyes for a few moments.
He opened his eyes, then absently-mindedly tugged down on his vest, as if to straighten it. He picked up the phone and replied:
Amanda was a little confused by the text, it was still surprising. Though they did have a decently good time the other night, when he wa eleceted harpy. Amanda shruged it off, but still was planing on keeping her gaurd up. After she got out of the shower she replyed to Alex once again, 'Why the Atrium? If you want to get to know me you could take me somewhere decent." She laughed, the Atrium wasn't that bad, but had mixed feelings with the place.
Amanda laughed at the text, but accepted it. She finished getting around. She didn't bother replying to the text. Amanda was slightly excited to go to the atrium. It would be quite there... after all spending time with a fellow kindred in a quite place wouldn't hurt, to bad.
After some time she made her way in to the Atrium. She was curious as to what he was up to. She walked is slowly. Wondering how long it would take for him to notice her, if he didn't right off. She was in a playful mood, for the moment at least.
As soon as Amanda enters the Atrium, Alex watches her. He follows her movements around the room, taking no action to motion her over. After a few moments, he stands, walking over confidently to her.
"Miss Winters. I am honored that you could make it on such short notice. I'm sure you had you push someone out of your schedule to make time to see me. I am flattered that you'd do such." He motions to a pair of large, comfortable-looking chairs. "Could I entice you into sitting with me for a bit?"
Amanda takes a look at the chairs and back at Alex. After slight hesitation she replyed. "Sure, why not?" After a moment she walks over to the chair. She looks up at the stars. It was indeed a very beautiful night. Amanda sits down in the chair now watching Alex and all that he was doing. It was slightly awkward for her to socialize with drink in hand. She waited for him to strike up the conversation.
After Amanda takes a seat, Alex goes back to his chair. He picks up the journal and pen, opening the journal to a blank page. "Tell me, Miss Winters, have you sufficiently recovered from the weekend's excitement?" He smiles, looking intently at Amanda.
Amanda automatically feel incomfortable. After Alex took out the pen and journal she felt as though she was being interviewed and that any wrong answer could be very harmful. She decided to keep answers short and sweet. "Of course I am recovered. That was nothing!" She smiled with a nervous giggle.
