Cicero waits for a gathering of the Kindred to address them. He stands and looks over them all for a moment as they wait to hear is words. He does not seem dark and brooding - but instead rather relaxed and calm.
"Kindred of Lamar,
I thank you all for showing to this gather tonight. I would take a moment of your time to speak about the coming battle.
Many of you have wondered over the recent nights as to why I have not made this coming battle more the topic of conversation. I know many have questions and many are concerned for they are not experienced in the ways of fighting.
I will speak to you now from experience in battle.
There is no point in working ourselves up about the fight to come. We are typically a paranoid lot as it is - and when we feel stressed and pressured we tend to collapse in on each other. I would not see the city fall upon itself in the final hours before battle.
There are immutable facts of what is to come:
We are going to fight, for the will of the Justicars and for the betterment of the Camarilla.
We are going to slay a creature, deemed powerful, but not Infernal - and still an enemy of the Sect; and thus our enemy.
We are going to defend the city that is our home, and our Domain.
It is likely some of us will perish.
These are facts. No amount of discussion of the topic prior will change them. Which is why I see no cause in darkening the nights to come with thoughts of "what may happen". We do this and we continue on. It is unpleasant, as all conflict is - but it is what we must do.
Many of you have made it clear that you desire to know "what the plan is", and I regret to inform you that while there is a plan - its details shall not be revealed until a due time has come.
I know not what eyes and ears this creature may have, and thus I would not sabotage our efforts before they even began by making our stratagem known.
Know that we have taken in to account that not every Kindred here is a warrior. It is both a weakness and a blessing to this city, for it means that we have individuals talented in so many other things; but for the moment it leaves us a bit shorthanded for war.
There will be captains of each of these groups that the Justicar asked for us to assemble...and the groups shall be assembled with maximum effectiveness in mind for that individual group. The roster of who belongs to what group will remain with me until the time comes.
As in nights long past, to warriors that I had known ages ago - I would say to you; let not the thoughts of battle keep you from enjoying the moments before it comes. In these nights, cement the reason you fight for your Domain, by truly appreciating everything within it.
Know that I, and your officers, will stand beside you in battle. Our blood will be shed with yours for this city. None are being marched onto a field to die in the stead of others who should be present.
I hope this answers your questions, my fellow Kindred of Lamar.
I am still present and in service as your Prince."
He stands where he was and looks over the Kindred.

Otto listens to the speech, his blood boils for answers, but in his living days he has seen war and he gives a slight nod of approval. At least his rational mind can respect the Princes choice.
He does not join in the applause, time will come for that when the battle has been won.
Still, the speech did take him a half step back to his old self as a small smile crosses his lips at inner thought.

Looks up at the Prince and nods her head. She then looks around to see the expressions on her fellow kindreds faces. She holds the cross around her neck and says a silent prayer.

Mini Ogre stands silently in the back of the crowd of kindred listening intently. He looks over the group and sees Angelique. As he hears the princes speech he thinks of what he would be fighting for if he answered the call. He had always been a nomad according to the others. He went from place to place, not caring what he left behind or what the people there were going through. Now it was all different. Now he had a home, a life, a future. Now...he had someone to fight for. Mini Ogre watched Angelique say a prayer and decided some things were worth fighting for, dying for.

droz stands just outside the room listening to the prince talk. He still has not yet decided if he is going to join this camarilla venture or not. Being an independant he couldnt fully justify it to himself. But the speech was a very good one and he clapped a few times as he left.

Kalie stands towards the back of the room on the edge of the gathering. Silently and emotionlessly she listens to the words of the Prince with full attention. Upon the completion of his speech, Kalie's eyes narrow and her gaze intensifies as she studies Cicero for several long moments. It was a gaze that held no emotion, but the intensity could not be denied. It was as if Kalie was trying to peer into his very core, as if she were attempting to find something within him.
After a mere second or two, the intensity lifts and Kalie silently slips from the room and leaves.
