Thread: Working (Otto) 12/14

Otto wanders into the Museum, not really looking for anything in particular. He seems slightly more refreshed then he has been, though many troubles loom he seems to be taking a few minutes to reflect as he glances over the various peices of art work. A few glances are spared to take in the various occupents.

Looking up from writing Lydia notices Otto walking around. Smiling she gets up and walks over to where he is. "Good evening Otto, how are you this evening? If you have a moment I would like to speak with you about something"

Otto joins Lydia. "Certainly I can spare a few minutes" though he doesn't really know what to say after that. Either he has a fear of Harpies or Malkavians, hard to tell which at this point.

Walking back over to her table she sits down and motions Otto to take a chair. Looking at him for a few moments before smiling "Otto, I would like to talk to you about the Primogen meeting Saturday night."

Pausing for a moment to grab some notes before continuing. "It seems that the Primogen council was offered a deal by Kalie. So far you are the only one that does not support the offering. Why is that?"

Putting the notes back down and sitting back in the chair she waits for him to speak.

((Going with the idea that the Boon registry is completly ooc and he does not know that Kalie tried to say he 'owed' her a boon))

Otto considers giving the long or the short answer "Well, few reasons and as I think of it two of them have real substance... First one.. I'm the kinda fella that doesn't like seeing people abuse their power for personal gain. As I see it the Scourge has a job to do, and when they start mixing politics with it, well... seems like that is a good way to muddle the lines between being good at your job and being percieved as being good with your job. Kalie made a demand that we give her boons, in exchange she'd come to us if she found one of our clansman wandering around the town unacknowledged."

Otto lets that sink in for a bit "Probably be a good deal, but she added we'd owe her more on the back end when she actually did bring people to us. I won't worry too much about that though since there are some other issues to be had"

"Don't get me wrong, I value my Independant brothers higher then most, they are good eggs as far as I'm concerned, though they don't hold to the party line our organization spouts....heck, I don't always get our party line even though I consider myself as loyal as the next fella."

"As I see it, we are part of an organization, and any one of my kinsman that decides to come to the city better fit into two catagories... Either they are organized and will let me know they are coming or they are good enough at keeping their head down that they won't come to the notice of one gal doing her job in a big city. Hm...of course I guess I'm going under the assumption that our Scourge will honor the rules of Elysium...." he looks to the Harpy "Have you heard any rumors Kalie doesn't honor Elysium? If so..well, I may have made something of a mistake"

Otto smiles "Also....I may be a bit of a coward... plain and simple. If someone comes in claiming to be one of my kinsman without any kind of background check, well with the current state of affairs, they are more likely to be from the Pitsburgh group then to be an honest member of our organization and I would rather they not get the guided tour to me"

"Now, obviously all of us that sit at the Table need to make certain choices, and I can see why some of the others would need to protect their brothers and sisters from Kalie by paying her price, but for me... well, I got faith in my kinsman, and equal parts of faith in our Scourge that she'll go about doing her job and leave the politics out of it."

"Well...I tried to be as complete as I can... Probably even gave you some ammunition against me, but I figure the more you know, the better you can do your job. Did you have anything you needed clairified?" he adds. This is certainly a more friendly Otto then the one who refused to support you a month ago.

After you have had the opportunity to ask follow up questions Otto adds.

"I'd also like to talk to you about something a bit more sensitive in the next couple weeks, if you could stop by our Foyer ((Indicating the 'public' meeting room in the Barrens)) sometime in the next few weeks, I'd appreciate it... It isn't time sensitive but could be worth hearing"

Lydia leans back in her chair and listens to Otto explain things and looking a bit bored.

Leaning forward in her chair, "Rumors about Kalie? No have not heard any rumors. Have you?"

Nodding and writing as she mumbles "cowardly ok"

"sensitive material, could be interesting. Yes I can meet with you. I might not wait if that is ok. Might come out this week.

Otto shakes his head when it comes to rumors on Kalie though he changes topics as something occurs to him. "Oh, Mini Ogre was supposed to meet with me, he had a question he really wanted an answer to. If you see him, let him know to look me up. I can't seem to find him anywhere, he said he had to come here for some kind of meeting though I don't think I caught with who"

Otto shrugs "Well...as far as I can tell, that's about it for now. Anything else I can help you with?"

"No I think that is all for now. Thank you. I think I will be out your way later in the week if that is ok so we may discuss what you said I might like to hear."
Unless stopped she gets up to leave.
