Thread: Waiting for instructions (Attn: Benjamin 1-30-10)

Corin finds Benjamin sitting with Maddalena. Both are looking out the window, saying nothing to each other. After a few minutes, Benjamin stands, and bows respectfully to Maddalena, still saying nothing.

As he begins to walk out, he notices Corin. "Ah, yes. You were on my mind, Corin. Would you like to talk?"

She nods to him, and smiles slightly. It is obvious that there is something on her mind. Her accent is heavier tonight than he has ever heard.

"Yes please."

Benjamin takes a seat next to Corin. "How may I help you?"

"I was mistaken in a statement I made to you the other night."

She bites her lower lip, waiting for what might follow.

Benjamin looks curious. "Which statement was a mistake?"

"The Baron. I am now under the impression that he knew."

She looks Benjamin in the eyes.

"I apologize if this is an inconvenience for you, and I will understand if you no longer want to help me."

She looks to the ground. It is obvious that she is used to some sort of "punishment" for mistakes like this.

Benjamin thinks this new information over before speaking. "It is an interesting piece of the puzzle, but not entirely unexpected."

He stands, offering his hand to Corin. "I will be in touch on how to move forward."

She looks at his hand, puzzled. After about a minute she takes his hand.

"Thank you. It's nice to know that there is someone genuine around."
