((Happens immediately after they leave Pius' office.))
They walk out of Pius' office, then Corin walks over to a table, sitting down. She seems to be in deep thought. Hearing that it may be her own mind talking to her she shakes her head. She then looks over at Mackenzie.
"I'm sure you have questions...Please ask. I would hate for you to not trust me because of the things that have happened in the last few nights."
Mackenzie sits down across from Corin and stares silently at her for several minutes. She sighs loudly. "Corin, I'm used to not trusting anyone. It usually bothers others a whole hell of a lot more than it does me."
She stares at the table and finds a small marr in the finish to pick at. "For some reason coming to this place and meeting everyone in our clan...I want to trust you. I want to trust Kendov." Her voice slightly changes at Kendov's name.
She looks up at Corin. "You say you were Sabbat, okay. That was your past. As I told A.J. you have proven yourself not to be the same person. You like pain, there's nothing wrong with that or shameful. The book I was reading when I first came to town is about someone like that."
"The problem I have is that when you are hearing the voice, you no longer have a lick of reason in you. Horacio was able to bring you out of it. Tell me what I can do to help at that point, in case Horacio isn't around. Because heaven help me, next time one of us will be in torpor."
"Trust has to be earned. It is hard to come by, but once you have it, it is worth having. I still have a lot to prove to this city, to the Camarilla, and to myself."
When Mackenzie mentions the voice she doesn't have any expression on her face.
"If the voice should return, and Horacio isn't around I don't know what to do. He and I have a past that goes back one hundred and sixty years."
She sits and looks at Mackenzie for a few minutes.
"I'm going to have to find my will again. The other night I had just been through a long battle, a battle to gain freedom. Now it's a matter of trying to find my freedom from this."
"I haven't heard the voice since that night. And whether Horacio is around or not, I would only expect you to do whatever you feel you need to do. Don't let Horacio try to lead...if you need to knock me out, then do it."
Mackenzie grins at Corin. "Permission even. That's more than I thought." She lets the grin fade. "Is there anything or anyone else in your past that I need to know about? Anything that will place you or our clan in danger?"
