A quiet afternoon at the zoo, uninterrupted by the chatter of noisome mortal children—mundane to some, but blissful for a Gengrel seeking solitude—that was all Lenore needed. She wandered with the breezes, from animal to animal, until she came to the well-worn path passing the wolves. As they usually did, each one ran to the edge of the enclosure, remembering this apparently young woman from a few previous visits. As they yipped and leaped, she smiled, a rarity, and loosed a soft, melodic howl. The pack joined her in moments, conveying their excitement at her return. These were all the happy moments she needed, these wisps of time that floated within her life like whispers on the wind. Content, she sat on the bench nearest the wolves’ enclosed run and settled her long, black duster about herself. Perhaps, she mused, someone will talk to me. That could be interesting…
It had been weeks since Corin had visited the Zoo, but after the dreams she had been having she felt that maybe it was time for her to spend some time with the animals. She had felt her "fighting Irish" coming out, and the animals soothed her.
She see's a young woman standing near the wolves, and watches for a while. When she realizes that the young woman is not breathing she walks over standing near her, and speaks.
"They are beautiful aren't they? The wolves, they are so misunderstood...it's a shame."
She looks around to make sure they are alone enough that they can speak freely.
Lenore starts at this unexpected, although appreciated conversation.
"Not long. I just...drift, I suppose." She gazes at the wolves, now playing amongst themselves, completely ignoring her soft Cajun drawl. "They make sense to me, you know? Noplace in the bayous has anything like this, except maybe the leopards." She extends her hand. "I'm Lenore. Pleasure to meet you, cher."
Amanda walked arm and arm with Benjamin through the zoo as she lightly chattered to him about her latest writings. Noticing Corin, she lightly nudges Benjamin and motions to her. "We should give a warm hello."
Amanda cocked her head as they moved closer and realized she was speaking with young women. Approaching she gives Corin a smile and a nod, "Hello, Ms. Corin, pleasant evening." Then Amanda turns her attention to the new found kindred, after doing a quick aura check. Excited to greet someone new she quickly offers her hand to the new one, "I am Amanda Winters and this is Colonel Benjamin Walker, you are?" she says smiling.
Lenore shakes the proffered hand. "Good afternoon, ma'am, Colonel." Is it kindred day at the zoo, she wonders, for so many to be here? She is accustomed to very little contact with kindred. "Do you happen to know what the operating hours are here? I'd like to make this a regular haunt, if that's no bother to anyone. My name is Lenore Greyfell."
Benjamin studies Lenore closely, as if committing her image permanently in his brain. "Hello, Miss Greyfell. A pleasure to meet you." He listens to her questions before replying, "It is likely someone's assigned area already. You may be able to petition them to stay here, though."
Benjamin smiles slightly at Lenore's question. "Well, that depends on how much information you are willing to share. So far, we know little to nothing about you. What would you tell us that would inspire us to arrange such a meeting for you?"
Lenore's head tilts again, the other way this time. "I apologize. I've not been in contact with others for some time. What *are* you talking about? This is a simple request for residency...unless you are the party to whom I should direct such a request?" Confusion is apparent on her face.
"Well, no, I am not, but could perhaps direct you to who you need to talk to. I do not know which family you claim, though, so that would be difficult at this point."
