Sophia walks into the coffee shop, her light blue dress and black scarf shimmering in the artificial light; she orders a drink before moving to a booth in the back corner to wait for Emma.
Once Sophia sits down she looks at the text she received, “Okay, I’ll meet you at the coffee Haus”. So she waits.
Emma wanders into the coffee hause dressed in a white angora sweater and jeans, her red hair in a loose bun at the back of her head, she looks around until she spots Sophia and makes her way to her friend's chair.
"This seat taken?" She jokes. Sitting down she asks, "How have you been?"
Emma smiles, "Well, I would say urgent just..." Feeling her phone vibrate she reaches into her pocket and says, "I'm sorry, I have to take this, I'm expecting an important text."
Looking at her phone she reads the text and furrows her brow. "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?" She sighs. Texting back to Benjamin she writes: "Give me 20 minutes? I'm at the coffee haus. Where do you want to meet?"
Putting her phone into her pocket again she says, "Looks like this meeting may be shorter than I hoped." Sitting down she smiles, "So I'll get right to the point. Things with Tino are..." she tries to find the right words, "... going very well. He's asked me on a trip over Lent. Sophia, I haven't felt this good in a lot of years and you're a large part of the reason. I just wanted to thank you for all that you've done."
"Better than good." Emma says conspiritorially. She sits down and drops her voice to barely above a whisper. "I... I kissed him." She giggles much as she did in Springfield in the limo.
"I feel like an idiot. I've never been this retardly smitten... and, I know he just lost the woman he loved his whole life and I shouldn't be so stupid as to believe that those feelings have fluttered away with her..." Emma hesitates, her smile fading slightly. "Death." she decides is the right word.
"But..." Her smile faintly returns. "I am. I can't help but feeling like this may be my way to hang on to something very dear to me and maybe I can help him like you asked."
“YOU kissed HIM?” Sophia’s eyes widen, in a whisper she says “I will have to talk to him about that.” “You shouldn’t worry so much; my dear brother is quite taken with you.” She smiles, taking a sip of her drink before saying “And I thank you so much for helping him as much as you have already."
