Thread: Making Music - Attn Any 6/16/10

Corin comes out of her office and listens to the music play. She closes her eyes, smiles and seems to relax a lot. She moves to the booth that Darius has set his group up in and takes the music in. After listening for a few minutes she walks up front where Lenore and Jeanette are sitting.

"Hello ladies."

She looks around at the group assembled in the sitting area waiting their turns then smiles at Lenore. She gives some paperwork to Jeanette, who takes it and starts filing it away. She leans over to Lenore, and speaks to her in a hushed, but very sweet tone.

"You make sure Mr. Darius gets as much time as he needs. There's plenty of recording booths they can record in. If anyone gripes about not getting the main booth you send them away. And if Mr. Darius needs anything, make sure he gets it. He's Michaels family."

Darius shoots a grin over at the others then turns his attention back to the band, nodding in time to the music. He leans over the board and hits the talk button.

"Drummer, you snare is flat, adjust it."

He turns back to Corin.

"Thanks for the space and support there luv," he says with an easy grin.

She smiles at him.

"Of course. It's the least I could do. If you need anything, please ask."

She stands in the hallway to listen to the music.

The layers of music are starting to come together as she listens. Layers starting to fusion together into a cohesive sound as the rock band blends in with the orchestral movements. Darius nods along as it comes to a crashing crescendo.

"Would you like to sing along on this track luv?" he smiles.

Corin looks a little shocked, but then smiles.

"I would be honored."

He walks into one of the small booths for the vocalist, motioning for her to go to the other. When she puts on the headset, the music and lyrics are waiting there for her already.

She can hear the beat of the music as it flows towards her, she begins to sing, then his voice intertwines with hers, dancing in and around the notes she hits, pushing her to even greater heights as he does so. His voice seems to naturally complement hers. She makes it to the end of the song as they both stretch for notes higher and higher, until the rock fusion takes on the sound of an opera their voices one more instrument in the mix.

The lyrics of the song are powerful, telling the tale of lost love, a girls heart breaking, turning to darkness and being consumed.

As she sings (performance 5, specialty in singing) she let's the music carry her. She gets so entwined with the music that when the song is over it takes a while for her to come back to reality, having not sang anything so intense since Cocteau's opera.

When she comes out of the booth she is shaking a little, but composes herself quickly, and moves towards Darius.

"Did you write that yourself?"

Darius nods, his easy grin on his face as his eyes take in her emotional reaction.

"You're quite good yourself there luv," he says moving in a little closer to her personal space.

Lenore nods and smiles to Corin, and then divides her attention between her work and the exquisite music floating through the building.
