Thread: The Work of Art ((ATTN: Miranda. 6-27-10))

An employee in finely tailored, yet plain black attire approaches you and stands at a respectful distance while you examine the art. They offer you a slight bow before speaking, "A pleasant evening, Sir. Might there be any specific piece I could show you or tell you about?"

Domino turns to smile and nod to the employee before turning his attention back to the surrounding artwork and talks to the worker.

"The work is quite beautiful but I was looking for something in particular. An intriguing bit of beauty indeed. About so high, delicate lines, quite captivating, just a touch of sorrow in her eyes. I believe she may work or own this place."

The waiting employee smiles, "Miss Montreve is the Galerie's owner, she has recently returned from being away. She has not been seeing any visitors but I would be happy to go and let her know you are here, Mr. ...." he trails off, waiting for you to give your name.

When the voice trails off he turns to the employee. "Dorek. Dorek Isidoros. Thank you kindly."

The employee moves off down a long hallway and it is many minutes before he returns. When he does, his manner is stiffer than it was and his words more halting. "Mr. Isidoros, I am sorry but it seems that Miss Montreve is indisposed at the moment. She sends her regrets that she cannot extend greater hospitality to you this night."

"If there is any way I can be of further assistance, please let me know."

"I am sorry to hear that but it is understandable. She may not know I'm a friend of the family. I think that will be all for now. I think I may take in more of the art here, if that is ok."

Domino turns back to the art and thinks to himself "Montreve, huh? Well, Miss Montreve, what makes your eyes hold such sorrow?"

The employee bows, "Yes of course, take as long as wish." He then moves off to leave you to your contemplations.
