Thread: High Class (attn: Anyone) 10/26/2009

Evan inclines his head as she asks if he has dined already. He smiles as he speaks enchantingly, "I am afraid that I have already dined. It is a habit of my family to do so before leaving for the evening. At least it is for those of my line." He smiles back to her as she asks her questions, "I cannot tell you much of the city since I only arrived a few days ago, but I can talk of my family. What would you like to know of them?"

Cicero inclines his head as she gestures toward her glass, after gracefully carrying his with him to his seat; he drinks deeply of the wine and smiles at it's taste. His eyes smile at Miranda, and he looks with only passing interest as Storm begins to speak.

((OOC: I didn't know about the 'doctoring drinks' bit but it's good to know. It is also possible to get 'the effects' of some substances by drinking the blood of a human who has them in their system))

She looks with interest on Evan when he mentions he is new to the City, leaning forward slightly in her chair. "I have also just been presented to the Prince, perhaps we can get to know the city and it's inhabitants together?". She reaches to run her thumb around the edge of her glass before continuing. "What brings you to Lamar then?"

While she speaks, she has watched Cicero at the edge of her vision while he has watched her, the corner of her mouth slightly raised.

Evan pretty much gives the entirety of his attention to Miranda as she speaks. For a moment he almost forgot that Cicero was even there. Her desire to get to know the city and its inhabitants with him was a delightful surprise. One that he would not reject. He smiles as he speaks enchantingly, "I would be honored to get to know Lamar with such a beautiful woman by my side. It has been a long time since I started out new in a new city, so, to have company as I get acquainted with the city and its politics would be very welcomed."

He pauses a moment after he thinks about her question. It was a question he'd been considering still since he arrived. Initially it had been the potential of new beginnings that brought him to Lamar, but now, after the pitiful first impression the city had made on him, he had found himself wondering why he should stay. He smiles again, "I came to Lamar because it is an expanding, growing city. It presents a lot of opportunities for me to expand what I've already built for myself. Not to mention, new places and new faces always are an intrigue. So, I would ask the same question to you, if that is fair?"

Cicero watches the exchange go back and forth, and makes sure to make a mental note of how Evan Storm, supposed Elder of Clan Ventrue, disregards a fellow Elder at the first sight of a beautiful young woman. Oh how this will be much more fun for later... he thinks to himself, and says nothing to intrude or comment on the Ventrue's actions.

He simply watches on and smiles.

A fleeting, sad look crosses Miranda's face at Evan's question. He left me! She shakes her head as if to clear it, then answers him. "I found myself...tired after a while. There was too much attention in New York, the masque grew too heavy and I didn't want it anymore. I found solitude comforting for a while, and then I came here. I felt this place's history, it called to me so here I am."

As she speaks she feels a tension grow between the two men. Not understanding and feeling uncomfortable, she makes a slight motion with her hand and one of the black clad employees appears at her side. They converse in low tones for a moment, and then Miranda rises to her feet. (Diplomatic) "Gentlemen, please forgive me but a matter at my home requires my attention. The hospitality of this place is yours as long as you wish it, and I hope to see you both again soon." She offers them each a slight bow, then turns to the exit. She greatly hopes that the animosity between the two will fade without her presence as a goad.
