Thread: "Naked In The Rain" 11.16.2009 attn: Amanda, Miranda

The employee at the desk makes a polite inquiry as to the wishes of the guest who just entered. Nodding at the reply, she moves around to walk down the stairs. A few moments later she returns, followed closely by Miranda. Tonight she wears a very simple, long sleeved cream baby doll dress. ((pic)) Her dark sable hair falls loose in waves down to her waist. She looks flushed as if from fresh vitae and her eyes sparkle with amusement. Seeing Benjamin, her smile grows even wider and she moves immediately towards him.

She places out her hand, palm down and makes a slight curtsy when he takes it. "Benjamin! It is good to see you, thank you for accepting my offer for a visit." She looks at his soaked clothes and makes a tsk sound. "You must be so uncomfortable, let me lead you to my office, there's a shower there where you can rinse off and I believe I could find a suitable change of clothes." She takes his arm to show him the way.

His smile is bright as Miranda greets him. He looks embarrassed at his attire, but only slightly so. He takes her hand in his, gently, briefly, before being lead away.

After he has a quick shower, he looks at the clothes left for him. With a slight tsk, he puts on the clothing. He steps out of the private area, looking around for Miranda.

Miranda is sitting in one of the soft espresso leather chairs in her office, her legs underneath her, an open book on her lap. When Benjamin emerges from the bathroom, she smiles in appreciation at his tussled damp hair, his slighly unshaven face and the grey cashmere sweater he now wears. She motions for him to join her. "I thought we might spend a few minutes here while we wait for Amanda, she is joining us, no? I've left instructions with the girl at the desk to escort her here when she arrives."

"Is there anything I can get for you?"

The Colonel takes in the picture of Amanda reading, admiring her dedication to the Seneschal's request. Her posture and demeanor take him back to the ladies of the 18th century; he makes a conscious effort to dam the flow of memories. To ignore Miranda now would derail his agenda from its tracks before it left the station.

"Yes, it would be good for Miss Winters to join us. I have much to ask of both of you." He takes the offered seat, never looking away from Miranda.

Miranda raises an eyebrow her curiosity peaked. "I will await Amanda's presence with interest then, monsieur. I congratulate you again on your court position as scourge, you've amassed great honors in the short time you've been in the city." She sets the book aside and gives her full attention to Benjamin, leaning forward slightly in her chair. "I regret my absence saturday night from the affairs, would you do me the favor of telling me about events such as you saw?"

Amanda was already in the Old Town when she received the text. Amadna was curious to see and explore her new territory that she had just received. She stalked Old Town like she owned every single bit of it. Amanda finally felt like a new Primogen. Before that point she always felt like she was stepping in for a temporary time only. Amanda could honestly say she had never felt so much distanced from her mortal self. Though the power that ran through her felt like pure ecstasy and she began to enjoy every bit of it.

Amanda walked quickly to the gallery. Quite a coincidence that she was planing make her way there that evening. Amanda was there in a matter of minutes. She put down her umbrella right before she walked into the gallery. She was already decently impressed. Just but the clean look of the outside. Amanda quietly approached the front desk. She was still in a hunting mode. "Can I speak with Miss Miranda?" It clearly startled her. "I am sorry did I interrupt a thought?" The lady smiled and guided her to where Miranda and Colonel Walker were currently.

After the unneeded introduction Amanda nodded; "How are you this evening? Colonel? Miss Miranda?"

The Colonel notices that he's piqued Miranda's curiosity, and hopes he has made the right choice. "Saturday night. Well, as I'm sure you've heard. . . Miranda. . . Cicero has claimed Praxis of the city. It was rather bloodless, fortunately."

Before he gets any further into his tale, Amanda enters the room. He stands. "Miss Winters, I am so honored that you could make it on such short notice. I am a crude man for assuming you and Miranda would be available to me."

Amanda giggles politely with a smile at the Colonel "As a 'lesser' I am always at your service." Amanda looked at the Colonel up and down. "You look to be dressed up nicely. I am sorry it took so long for us to actually reach this gathering. Even more apologetic that you arranged it." Amanda nodded her head.

Amanda politely walked passed the Colonel guiding him to the direction she was looking. She clearly was distracted by the nearby work of art. After a split moment she turned back to the Colonel. "My apologies, once more... I get distracted easily with such beauty around. Though I promise nothing here is more distracting as you." Amanda began to drain off vocally "such an interesting character..." She was clearly studying him. Making mental notes.

Miranda watched the two with an amused smile as Amanda led the man around the room. When it seemed she was trailing off, Miranda spoke, "Amanda love, I'm pleased you could join us so quickly. You are not crude Benjamin your gentlemanly company is a delight, I assure you, please both of you sit with me here on the couches." As Amanda approaches Miranda rises to give her a kiss on the cheek, then settles back down.

"Our new Praxis, Cicero, told me Sunday that I should ask you, Amanda, about our family's new duties. Benjamin is here now, however and I think that it can wait." She smiles at them both. "Is there anything I can get either of you, anything I can provide for your comfort?"
