Thread: Bonne Fortune - New Year's (12-31-09 Invites delivered via PM)

Sophia walks in wearing a light blue floor length dress, with light green horizontal stripes across the torso ((http://www.nexteve.com/images/D/F04-A12.JPG)). She makes her way to Miranda.

"Thank you for the invite, and the room looks amazing."

Nodding a hello to Constantino and Sophia, Lydia sits there and politely waits.

Romeo chuckles to him self leaning back against the couch stretching his arms out getting comfortable.

"A story you seek? I guess i can obliged that. In my younger days the Camarilla was not quite so open to one such as I. So i spent a lot of time fitting in with the Ventrue. My mortal lineage as a Spanish noble helped me passed as nobility. Passing myself off as a descendant of a very enigmatic Venture meant most people did not bother checking my lineage. I did this for many years. At the time I was a bit lost, I wasn't exactly proud of being a Lasombra back then. We weren't held in a high regard wherever we went. In some cities, even hunted simply for being a keeper."

Romeo grins thinking for a moment, almost like he is remembering something, a wide smile crossing his face.

"One night, at a nobles estate on the edge of Spain. A party was being hosted. I of coarse attended. Made my rounds, shook my hands, continued the persona. Then the most lovely woman entered. She entered with not a man on her arm like a young mare of the west that could not be tamed. This of coarse was in the early 1900's so for a woman to enter a nobles party unattended was unheard of. Yet she did with such grace and confidence. I of coarse couldn't stand for this travesty, so i went and introduced myself and offered my arm. Which she politely accepted. We chatted, we danced. She was a refreshing breath of fresh air. For being of the moon she was so alive. We talked all night, it seemed like everything she did was to tempt fate just because she could. And then we agreed to travel together. We headed east, nowhere specific, just to travel, to see what the world offered. Her as the chaotic wind, sweeping across Europe, sucking its pleasures dry, and I as her shadow, her guardian. What a time we had..."

Miranda greets her latest guest, "Hello Sophia, it is nice to see again. I'm glad you and your brother have come. Won't you have a seat?"

After everyone is comfortable and settled, Romeo begins with his tale and Miranda listens with her head resting on her hand. When he has finished she exclaims, "Oh you must tell us, what was her name!"

Romeo just chuckles at the inquiry. "Now that would take the mystery out of my story. I do know that she still lives, still as beautiful and as unpredictable as ever. But enough about me, I am sure the citizens of Lamar have far greater interest then a silly independent Lasombra's reminiscing over the past."

Smiling. "that was nice to hear. Romeo we are learning a bit about you more and more each day. Thank you".

Turning to see Sophia arrive "Hello Sophia. Nice to see you again. Lovely evening isn't it."

Looking around the room with a frown. "Hmm, I wonder what is keeping her"
Looking over to Miranda "I'm sorry, I don't know what is keeping Maddalena. Has she anything to you about being late?"

Massimo sees the flood of people in the room and sees Miranda motion towards to Couch. He takes his drink and walks over to the seat and sets down to wait for Miranda to join him.

Miranda smiles coyly at Romeo, "Must always keep us wanting more, hm?" She laughs and squeezes his arm, "Thank you for the tale, it's good to know you better...we'll just have to keep prying you for more. If you'll excuse me for just a few I am going to speak to some of the other guests."

When Lydia asks her question, Miranda's brow furrows. "In truth dear one, I am not sure that my invitation made it to her, it was returned to me unopened." She shrugs, "I had hoped to make up JT Mogul's slight to her with another gift tonight but..." Miranda trails off into silence.

"Ah well, it should not keep us from enjoying our night. Won't you join me in mingling a bit?" Miranda rises and offers Lydia her hand and together the two women move over to where Constantino and Sophia are sitting, on the way she waves to Massimo to join them.

Taking their new seats Miranda turns to the Giovanni, "It's wonderful to see you again Sophia, and you as well Constantino. My apologies for not getting to speak with you more at the holiday party; I had noticed you seemed a bit forlorn and I wanted to ask if things were going better for you."

Constantino nods and smiles to Sophia as she enters, dressed in her princess attire as usual. Once she is settled his attention turns back to Romeo as he delivers his story. An eyebrow quirks when he mentions being Lasombra, obviously Tino did not know. As he continues with his story Constantino holds a slight smile on his face that grows more prevelant towards the end, as if he knows of whom Romeo speaks. But he holds his tongue.

He leans over and whispers something into the ear of Sophia while everyone's attention is focused on the host and the question about Maddalena. Then smiles wryly when approached by Ms. Montrieve. "Your hospitality honors me, madame." Upon hearing her question his head bows and a hand lifts to his chest, covering the healing wound beneath his attire. "I've recently lost something that I've had since I was a young boy, once I find it, my spirit will return. But thank you for your concern."
