Constantino sits behind a desk in the study looking out across the long conference table that has been so instrumental in the cities political power plays in past months. Swirling the scotch, gently, in his glass, Constantino's mind reluctantly drifts back to the mess this city has become.

The last prince that was empowered here has stepped down. And his thrown is filled by an unknown. The 'never-born' still stalks outside the city and its influence seems to be corrupting more and more each day. Why couldn't the death of Cross have been more beneficial? Collette...And then of course there is still one to hunt from that little fiasco. Not a word from Stan lately and then there is that foolish whelp who questions my backbone. What more does this damn city want from me? Tino's fist slams down to the table causing the beverage to slosh out. The new Principe has been asking for an audience perhaps its time to grant his requests and get my hands firmly back on the strings.

Reaching into his pocket he pulls out a phone and dials the seneschal.

Maddalena looks at her ringing phone and then at the door in the house that she has never opened. She sighs and answers the phone rather than answering the question of what lies behind the door.
"Greetings, this is Maddalena."

"Ms. Scattalia, Constantino Giovanni. I hope I am not interupting important city business with this call, if so I do apologize. I was actually hoping to speak with you about the current happenings of this fair city. I am told that the new leader wishes a word with me and I thought it best to be prepared. Can you tell me please, how this all has come to pass and perhaps why my character is being questioned?"

Maddalena almost laughs as she hears who is on her phone. She sits down and prepares for a long conversation.
"Mr. Giovanni, it is a pleasure to hear from you again. Perhaps I could meet you at your house so we may speak freely? Things have gotten... tenuous."

"Ms. Scattalia, you are always welcome here, and would be honored if you could fill me in on everything that has gone wrong in my absence. Thank you again Ms Scattalia, and i'll see you soon."

Maddalena hangs up the phone and walks out into the night.
After arriving at the Giovanni mansion, Maddalena knocks on the door and waits patiently. She is greeted by a servant and guided to the study where she takes a seat and waits for Constantino to continue their conversation. She turns down all offers of food or drink.

Tino rises from his seat as Maddalena is shown into the room. He smiles slightly, "Great to see you again Ms. Scatallia. Please have a seat."

Tino waits for her to be comfortable and begins again.

"So why is it that you have a new Principe?"

"I will assume that you recall that Art Morgan of the Gangrel went against Mr. Calhoun's wishes and took a trip across the pond. He spoke with one of our Justicars about the thing in the woods. Their Graces we terribly unhappy about the breach of protocol. In order to save Mr. Calhoun's life, because we cannot afford to loose more people at this time, we removed him from praxis as punishment for not being able to manage his city. That appeased the Gangrel Justicar. We put a Brujah, Cicero, in praxis to appease the Brujah Justicar. We had little choice." She stands and begins examining the room as something to do while she speaks.
"It is Camarilla politics. Nothing more. The true situation is that this city is in a time of danger. And as a gesture to your relationship with Stan, I will officially welcome you back from your very recent trip."

"So he was forced out...I see. Hmmm I've never met this Cicero individual. I'm told he requests and audiance with me, but even though he holds such power now, I decided that it you and a few others should get my attention first."

Tino follows her with his eyes as she glances around the room, there is very little that might be of interest. The room being a basic conference room, a small drink cart in one corner and a long table and chairs dominating the center. Smaller tables line the various walls but nothing really unusual.

"So did all of the justicars come to town? Or was it just Xavier? And are they still here?"

Maddalena finds something of interest in each item, even the walls, as if their patterns show her things. "Xavier is the only one who has shown himself, but some of us know that he is not the only one here." She walks back to the seat. "We appreciate being on the high end of your appointment book."

She turns to Constantino "Cicero is an old Brujah, with old ideas and old ways. He means this city well. He trusts my counsel. He was placed squarely into a very bad situation and is trying to make the best out of it without losing face. It is difficult to prove your leadership capability when you are trying to appease Justicars. I think that he will do a good job as prince, if any of us survive the upcoming battle. He is disappointed that you have not spoken with him yet. But I am certain that you will be able to alieviate his concerns with minimal effort. He can be a reasonable man if reasoned with, but he does have his family's temper."

She walks the room again. "I put him in his seat, and he remembers that."
