Moonlit Meeting (ATTN: Roscoe)
Lisa has set up the area with a large thick blanket. She has set two plates out from the picnic basket that is overflowing with food. Grapes, cheese, chunks of meat and bread, vegetables, fruits, and pieces of chocolate for dessert. She has two spill-proof mugs of sparkling juice set out as well.
The sapphire ring sparkles on her left ring finger as she waits for Roscoe to appear. Her smile is giddy, she has good news. If only he would hurry, but then it was still five minutes till eleven...
-
Roscoe wanders up at exactly 11PM on the dot. There is an obvious sadness in his eyes, but he tries to hide it with his smile that he wore just for her. The events of the previous night still weighing heavily on his mind. He wore nice, clean jeans and a black t-shirt along with a denim jacket, also clean, and instead of his usual cowboy hat, he wore a Yankees baseball cap turned backwards to keep his shaved head warm. He made his approach known by being sure to step on a few sticks as he drew closer. Once she could see him he says with a smile, "You went through all of this trouble for me?"
-
Lisa giggles and claps, obviously pleased that he likes the spread.
"It was no trouble at all. Just a few things I put together. Do you like it?"
-
Roscoe walks over, takes Lisa in his arms tightly and kisses her deeply, one of those long slow kisses that makes a woman melt. When he finally breaks the kiss, he stares into her eyes and says softly, "I love it. It makes me feel like I am special. Just as special as you are to me."
-
Lisa gives him a huge goofy grin
"Of course you're special. You mean everything to me. And tonight is special. It's Valentine's Day. So I made something special for my sweetheart."
She pulls a 'friendship bracelet' out of her pocket. It's done in red and white and has a lock of her own hair woven into the middle of it with a tiny gold heart charm dangling from the center as well.
"You don't have to wear it, just keep it in your pocket. It's got my hair in it so you can always find me with Rite of the Questing Stone. That and the heart make it more than just a friendship bracelet. It's a token of my love for you."
Her face is solemn as she tries to show with her features how much this means to her.
-
Roscoe takes the bracelet and examines it with a huge smile. He looks into her eyes and listens as she speaks, then when she finishes, instead of putting it in his pocket, he puts it on his wrist. The sadness and depression he had been feeling had melted away from him. Once it was on, he took her in his arms and held her tight to him. He spoke softly to her, "You mean everything to me Lisa. There isn't anything in this world I wouldn't do for you. I'd die for you."
-
Lisa blushes and kisses him quickly before sitting down and offering Roscoe some of the food.
"I can't stay too terribly long and I want to make sure you're eating properly so sit down here and eat something. How was your day?"
-
Roscoe sat down and took the food that she offered and started nibbling on it, but his eyes never left her. As she asks about his day, the feelings of guilt and despair come rushing back over him. After a pause he says, "It was better than yesterday." As he finishes speaking his eyes go to the ground.
-
Lisa's smile falls as she watches his demeanor change so rapidly. She reaches out to touch his arm
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to make you sad. Let's talk about something else, alright? What shall we talk about? What will put a smile back on your face?"
-
The moment she touches him, his smile returns as he pushes things aside and chooses to live in the moment. He looks into her eyes and says, "Anything you want. I'm just so happy we're here together, on this day." He takes her hand and kisses the top of it and smiles as he says, "This food is really good. It's a lot better than the Taco Bell and Mc'D's I've been eating. Did you make it yourself?"
