Thread: Lessons Learned... (04/13/10 Attn: Laurens and Lydia)

Waiting for a while before walking over to get her phone, Lydia smiles as she sees it is Ash that is calling. So silly to call I am right upstairs.

Listening to the message she calls him back "Hello Ash, Yes I can be there. Let me know when she gets here. I am up here working on some things right now, but will be happy to be there."

Hanging up the phone she goes back to researching.

Laurens approached Idle Hands excitedly at 8:58. She was dressed in the jeans and t shirt uniform of most college students. The glitter had come off eventually. She also had a messenger bag that held a thick notebook and a variety of writing implements. She had left her cell at her apartment.
'I have been accepted. Now I get to grow up.' Thought Laurens. She knocked on the door to Idle hands.



((Sorry it took me so long to post. I've come down with something and it is making me sleep a lot. I'll try to post whenever my brain is working."

Ash answers the door himself this evening. "Laurens, please come in."

Ash will lead Laurens back to the study in the studio. "Please have a seat. Can I get you anything before we start?"

"No thank you" says Laurens as she took the offered seat. From Her bag she removed a spiral notebook, a mechanical pencil, and a clipboard. "I hope you don't mind if I take notes. I find I remember better if I can wright things down. You mentioned I need to tell a ... Harpy? ..that I owe Mr Pius a boon. I think I may also owe an apology for running off so quickly last night."

"We will come to that in a bit. Lydia will be stopping by later, she is the harpy. What I want you to understand tonight are the Six traditions that we live by. The first and I want to emphasize MOST important Tradition is that of the Masquerade. This is how we have survived since the nights of the Inquisition over 500 years ago. We made the mortals forget we even existed. Otherwise they would have hunted us to extinction.
This is the first Tradition," Ash clears his throat and then as if from rote memory speaks, "Thou shall not reveal thy true nature to those not of the Blood. Doing such shall renounce thy claims of Blood." Ash looks and watches Laurens writing this down. "Now, what does that mean? It means that you do not use your powers that are obvious in front of the mortals. Our families' speed is one such power that we do not reveal. We do not get sloppy while feeding. If you are in a club and wish to feed, take it to a stall in the bathroom. The mortals won't suspect anything with noises coming from a bathroom stall that sound more like sex than feeding. To the one you are feeding on the Kiss will take care of that for you as it is better than sex in many ways for them. If you loose yourself to the beast and drain a body you do not leave it lying in the streets. If you need help to cover what you have done you call someone immediately. If you fail in these things and it is traced back to you, you will be brought before the Prince and you will die. No questions asked, just killed. Do you understand this?"
