Thread: Speaking with Mr. winters (ATTN: ASH ONLY 06-26-10)

The young blond, Ginelle, meets Eamon near the door. "Good evening, sir. You must be Mr. O Briain. Mr. Winters is waiting for you in the study. If you will follow me I will show you back."

She will open the door to the study. "Mr O Briain to see you, Mr. Winters."

Ash looks up from his reading, "Eamon, please come in. I hope you are having a good evening so far. Please have a seat." Ash will wait for Eamon to sit then, "I understand that you are wishing for your name to be entered once again for the position of Sheriff. Let me be upfront about the matter, clan Ventrue unless things have changed in the past few weeks will lack leadership without you holding the position of Primogen. I know you have mentioned Mr. Arch as a potential replacement, but he has not been seen around our society much of late. We would like to have a strong presence from the Ventrue and I can say with certainy that should certain members of your clan present themselves for Primogen they WILL be laughed away. How do we address this situation in the event that Mr. Cahill decides to find you worthy of the position of Sheriff?"

Éamon nods to Ash, "Thank you for seeing me this evening. I am well and yourself?"

Éamon takes a seat and listens to what Ash has to say before addressing his concerns, "Mr. Winters you are correct, that is precisely why I have come this evening. As it was Eric that has suggested that I would be a good fit for the position and his relaxed dealings with some kindred that broke the first tradition that I have come to this decision. It was not an easy conclusion to reach. I have spent many nights thinking of this matter and it is with a heavy heart that I have decided that while it would not be within the best interest of my own house, it is in the best interest of our way and the Camarilla for me to hand the reigns over to Mr. Arch and take up the mantle of sheriff should Mr. Cahill see fit."

Éamon pauses for a moment pondering his next words, "While I agree there is the potential for a lack of Leadership within my own house I am certain that Mr. Arch can accomplish the task as I shall still offer him the guidance when appropriate. However your observation is correct, he has not been seen within our society except for a few select occasions over the past months. He has been, how should I say this, doing some soul searching after being removed as prince. So that in the future he will not make the same mistakes again thus presenting the Ventrue clan in a more positive light."

Éamon chuckles at the thought of people being laughed away, "Should certain members of the clan attempt to present themselves as Primogen I can most certainly promise that it would not be with the support of the clan and would be dealt with harshly amongst ourselves as certain members have yet to prove they can uphold the traditions."

Ash nods, "Very well. I will forward your decision on to Mr. Cahill later this evening. I hope that Mr. Arch makes himself as invaluable to his family as you have been in the event of your promotion. Is there anything else I can do for you this evening?"

Éamon nods to Ash, "I believe Mr. Arch shall prove very invaluable to the family regardless as to if I get the position. I do not believe I have anything else this evening. Unless you have anything further I will let you get back to your endeavors."

"One last question, Eamon. If you are chosen, your first and main focus will be the finding and destroying of Malcolm. Have you considered the consequences of what this might entail?"

Éamon's expression grows somber, his eyes distant and cold, "Aye I have, while the thought of meeting the maker does not appeal to me in anyway shape or form. I cannot think of anyone else capable of besting an Elder Malkavian, save of course Archon Walker. Hopefully before that confrontation happens I will be able to arrange for an old friend to relocate to Lamar to assist with the issue. However as I have yet to prove myself in combat I do not believe that Mr. Cahill will chose me to fill the role. As being proven in combat goes I believe that JTM or Domino will be perceived as the better candidates for the position."

Éamon's smiles, "What are your thoughts on the candidates that have answered the call in respect to combat ability?"

"Combat ability is but one part of the job. Granted there are those more tested in battle but how will they stand up to the politics of the position? JTM can fight, but the politics of the job are far beyond him. As for Domino, I have not seen him tested, but his family will cause him the most difficulty in the position. He is not well trusted."

"They politics of such a position would elude most as few have held said position. From my dealings with both individuals I believe the politics of the situation would be far beyond JTM. However I believe Domino might be able to handle them, speaking of Domino were his combat abilities not tested during your expedition to Brazil?"
