Thread: Request for a Meeting (Kendov, 06-29-10)

kendov arrives an hour later knocking before entering the lobby looking around calling out for ash "mister winters ?"

Ash is waiting for Kendov at his workbench. He is working on what looks like a wing only for something human sized.

"Please come in Kendov. How is your evening going?"

" could be both better and worse " he moves in looking around casually "and your nights? how are they ?"

Ash nods at Kendov's assesment of the nights, "Quite busy of late. With the determination of who our new sheriff will be and gathering information for Mr. Cahill I have been quite busy. Which brings me to why I asked you to come here."

Ash watches Kendov move around the room. "It has come to my attention that there was a matter that you might not have yet brought to my attention concerning a member of your family, Jaysin. I was not told the nature of what it was that needed to be spoken about, but informed that it would be better to speak to you on the matter."

" not that i dont enjoy the banter but if were speaking of his inability to hold the first tradition then kill him if that is the wish of the prince. i do not have time to run around explaining these peoples actions for them. he has been set on a straighter course a few nights ago with the sting of my hand and hopes that he will learn but if he cant then we do what must be done. personal accountability does come into play here and none of the gangrel within the city are my childer. not that i have any of course " kendov seems irritated about the whole conversation. was it frustration at having to come explain it or at it having even happened wasnt even clear to him as he sat down after coming back to where ash was

hepaused for a moment sighing part of the frustration away " i am tired of having to care for the childer of others while they galivant across the lands. both jaysin and a new one syrus cant seem to keep thier tongues and if it doesnt stop i wont be able to let them be as free as our clan wishes to be. unfortunately my wishes to keep from being drug down because of their actions would be futile if i left them alone."

Ash watches Kendov as he moves around the room in his explanation and notes the frustration that seems to be building then patrially abates as he sits.

"Kendov, you are here to explain it to me because I frankly am tired of having to find out about things such as this through our Harpy who is the ONLY person in this city that seems to feel the need to make me, and thus Prince Cahill, aware of what is going on. This WILL stop. Mr. Cahill and I WILL be informed of incidents such as this in the future as soon as they happen. Not weeks later when the potential damage is far beyond repair. Now what is it that Jaysin did that broke the First and you felt the need to take care of?"

" then perhaps you should punish those that cant seem to bring their own mistakes to you. isnt that what your missive said? or did i misread? i am their primogen not a message service. i lead them for the betterment of the clan as the eldest alive not protect them from their own idiocy. if i breach the first the i have to show up and tell you myself do i not ?"

"as for what jaysin did he cant seem to let words like seneschal and prince and primogen stay at vampire only areas"

"as ive told you a few like minded kindred have gotten together to help protect the first and make sure its all covered up that doesnt mean i am responsible for telling you of their mistakes as well. let them hang themselves."

Ash shakes his head, "No where in my announcement did I say you had to present yourself if the First was broken. I did say that if it was covered and it was found that you tried to hide the fact the punishment would be doubled. Yes, it would be desirable that you come forward, acknowledge that you screwed up and take the punishment, but no where did I say you HAD to."

Ash pauses, "So let me get this straight with what you have said. Correct me please if I misunderstood. You don't feel the need to let the Prince or his Seneshal know about breaches that happen in the city, your clan or not, because after all you aren't a message service. But on the other hand you feel it important enough to gather a like minded group of individuals to cover said breaches when they occur? So your services are free to the city for covering thier breaches, but seeing to the punishment and stoppage of said breaches is unimportant. I do hope you have lots of time then to spare as your services will be well needed once people find out someone else will cover their tracks and need not worry about being punished for it."

Ash sighs, "Thank you for letting Mr. Cahill and I know that you can be counted on to turn a blind eye to those breaking the Masquerade, but that we can count on you to clean up the mess. I think that is all I need this evening."
