Stan sat there looking out the window. The lights off, only the city lights lit the room. The elders game was in full force and coming out into the public eye. The webs had been woven and the chaos was about to start, like none this city had ever known. The smile on his face told the truth of his feelings, the moment for everything to come to a head was approaching quickly, much faster than he had anticipated. His planes were bare at best, he had not figured anothers hand would push the hand of the clock so far ahead.
He ignored the knock at the door, his mind was racing through the unwritten laws that governed this society. He knew them well, he fought for them for years and his fist had been the will of those laws for years. Now, through an unfortunate event everything was going to be out on the table, so be it.
The sound of keys and the latch being turned quickly pulled the smile from his face. The cleaning crew new better then enter this room at this time of night. He sits in silence, waiting for the door to open, but hearing Maddalenas voice makes him reconsider his words.
Turning in the chair to face her, his face is void of emotion and his smile cold.
Yes my dear Szerelmen, I will always try to make time for you.
