Thread: The Spider and the Fly (Lydia Only, 6/30)

As Jack moves around the room Lydia sits on the couch and thinks. When he comes back over to her she pats the seat next to her. "Come, sit down. We don't need anyone else." When Jack sits down she holds out her wrist "First you must drink just a bit. You don't need much."

When he is done she looks at him with a nervous smile "Now your turn. Are you ready?"

She turns to face him "You are worthless, didn't your mom ever teach you any manners? What the hell is wrong with you? Can't you do anything right? Listen to me when I talk to you boy. That's right you piece of shit, I am talking to you. All those years I was with you Mom I had to put up with you whiny ass. I always knew you would never amount to anything. Just a worthless pile of shit. Man why didn't you just kill yourself and make the world better for all of us? We had to put up with you for so long. You should just walk out into the sun. You would be better as a pile of ash than the lowlife piece of scum you are now."

Jack furrows his brow and narrows his eyes at Lydia's exposed wrist. He takes a seat before grasping her hand and bringing it towards his mouth.

"Just a little, right?" he asks, before biting in. He takes only what is necessary, before sealing the wound. He looks at her uneasily, head already swimming with change after the drink.

Shit, what did you get yourself into? You know this isn't gonna end well. What if she tells her fam-

Jack's thoughts are cut off ad she begins to berate him. The beast roars to the surface, screaming at him to flee. He clutches at his chest, grimacing and closing his eyes shut hard. This was not like all the times he had been the subject of gangrel interactions that called directly to his beast.

"Fuck you." he mutters, defeatedly and barely audible, even as she continues. Images of his mother and father fighting assail his mind as his beast screams at him to run. He shakes his head. Her voice is now the voice of his father. He can feel the beast subside for a moment, long enough for him to silence his father's voice.

He screams, launching himself at the imminent threat. Fists fly and land with efficiency. He can feel his beast coming back. "Kill...you..." he grunts, as fists rain down.

His world shatters and stutters for a moment, and he's on his back on the living room floor. Shards of cheap glass embedded all over his face. He is stunned, looking at an injured and slightly shaken Lydia holding the remnants of a shattered white glass lamp. There is a moment of silence as the two stare at each other. Jack scrambles back a foot or so, bumping into the foot of the recliner.

He pulls hinself up into it, eyes locked on Lydia. "I-" he begins, before she launches herself at him, slashing and tearing at hia face with the jagged lamp. Jack puts his hands up, screaming.

He tries to call on his beast but finds himself pulling at the floodgates of her mind. Calling on the demented blood of hers polluting his body. "Ssshhhh" he hushes her, even as she plunges a long sliver of glass through his cheek and into his mouth. The pain brings him clarity, as he continues to hush her, vitae flowing and burning in his mind.

She steps back long enough for him to gjngerly pluck the shard of glass from his own face. He spits out jagged spindles of glass, eyes still locked onto hers."You don't want to hurt me, Lydia." he says, coldly, as he dampens her spirit with his willpower. "We can be friends now." he stares into her eyes and beyond.

Exhausted Lydia sinks the floor shaking. When she is able to speak, "No I don't want to hurt you."

Lydia tries to smile and winces in pain. Reaching up she touches the side of her face where one of his punches landed. "Remind me to never make you angry again."

Crawling over to the couch she starts to pull herself up then she just leans against it. "You are a quick study. That is good. Do you feel comfortable with it to do it?"


Looking around the room at the mess they had created she frowns. "Looks like we have some clean up to do now. I think we should start with your face. Go get some stuff and come here. I will help you."

Jack smiles, as he wills the blood to heal the ragged hole in his cheek.

"It's... Amazing" he says as he looks around the room. "Its like my mind is awake now. I can.." he trails off, lips still moving for a moment. He stands, and moves closer to Lydia. His expression changes to one of revulsion.

"Oh god, are you OK?" he says, cringing at her battered and beaten form. He bends down close to make sure she doesnt have broken bones or anything too severe. "I can go grab that guy out of the closet if you need the juice." he says, as he stands up and looks around.

"No dont worry about cleaning. I have someone that will take care of that." he states, eyes darting back to her injuries and a remorseful look on his face.

Lydia nods "yes I will be fine. I was not ready for your reaction is all. That will teach me to get to close." Reaching out she uses the couch to pull herself up and sits on the edge of it.

Looking at him she motions to the closet "I don't need him. I need a different type of pick me up."

She looks up at him quickly at his mention of someone cleaning the mess up. She groans at the sudden movement.

"You have a maid for this place?"

"If you need a place to stay for a day or two I have a place you can stay at. I am not there so you would have it all to your self." She laughs softly "It's the least I can do for trying to kill you. But you did try to kill me first. So if you have any extra goodies laying around I would be appreciative in the use of them."

Jack attempts to help her up, careful not to touch her if its going to cause an issue.

He laughs at the maid comment, shaking his head. "Got a friend that owes me a lot."

He scans the room, looking for something.

"Goodies? Such as what? All i have is hard liqour and drugs for when my living friends pay a visit. If there's somethibg specific you need i can have JTM get it in a day or two maybe."

Lydia accepts his help in getting up. "Thank you."


"Having someone owe you is always a good thing."

Her eyes shine at the thought of being so close to what she needs. "keeping the living friends happy is always a good thing. And those of us not living need to be happy also."

She shakes her head "No, what I want I can't wait for. Just enough for a pick me up. Is that too much to ask?" She looks hopeful as she waits to see if he gets her the drugs she needs.

Jack nods, going over to the fridge. He pulls out a small nondescript bottle of tylenol.

He rattles it as he walks back. "This is party mix. College kid gave me this in exchange for hooking him up with some low level suppliers. No telling what it is, probably valium, ecstasy, vicodin, flexoril.." he shakes his head. "If you're gonna feed it to someone take it real slow and wait for the effects before you feed them more." he hands it over, hoping it's close to what she wants.

"Or are you needing something specific?" he asks, folding his arms across his chest.

Lydia sighs as he hands her the bottle. She shakes it and looks disappointed then hands it back. "Don't worry about it. I will find what I need on the street. I am sure I can find some snow. Thank you for trying."

"If I am keeping you I can go now. It 's not a problem really. And I will heal." She touches her face and smiles
