Thread: I think we need NPC Arena so we can make our character stronger

Vampire doesn't have levels really, Mujkic. It's more of a lateral game, your 'level' is your Generation as that determines your max stats, there is only one way for your generation to change after Character Creation and that is Diablerie. Each Diablerie lowers your generation by one, if the character diabed is of a lower gen than you. At this new generation you can gain slightly higher stats than before. Diablerie is BAD though. If you are caught after doing it and almost all are your character WILL be killed. That's the downside.

As for character upgrades, that is what we use XP for. You can gain up to nine XP a month and as you accumulate them you can spend them on new stats, new powers, or new abilities.

A storytelling game, such as ours, doesn't focus on leveling characters and fighting monsters in the way you are describing. It's more about creating dramatic story with the help of storytellers and your fellow players.

You imagine a character's life, make stats for him/her (or have the staff do so if you used our character creation form), and then you write about them here on the site (either in blogs, chatrooms, and play-by-post forums... each word is a link to how that sort of thing is done.)

Characters participating in online roleplaying (in blogs, chatrooms, and play-by-post) or Live Action events (called LARPs) gain experience points and grow in power. The purpose for growing in power is for a sense of "realisim" (just as you learn things everyday, realistically so would your character) NOT for taking part in "battle arenas" or something similar.

Yes, some character concepts involve violence, but really it's not the heart of what our game is about... vampire is really about trying to retain your humanity in the face of impossible odds presented to you by being a vampire.
