The New Login Page
I'm just gonna give my opinion and hope no one takes it the wrong way. Please understand it as constructive criticism of what I see and not of the people who made it or their capabilities.
I really love the opening page at MyWorldofDarkness.com. That looks very awesome to me with the pictures and the opening video. I love it dearly.
I really, really, really dislike the way the page looks now once you log in, being broken down into four rows like it is. Not so much the rows, but I think the coloration is in such a vast difference to the actual website that it makes it look gimmicky and somewhat silly (and like something out of the opening credits of "Saved By The Bell").
I think the darker more somber colors better suited the themes of the World of Darkness, and in my opinion a change of the colors, fonts, and the pic (top hat guy is cool, but a bit too anime and not really relevant to the WoD in my opinion) would look better.
There's my opinion, feel free to agree or disagree.

I'm choosing to take your post as a customer who isn't happy with the product he's paying for (is that a fair way to take it?)
First off I'd like to say (in my defense as webmaster) that this page is a major work in progress and that, for us on the design side of things, it's far from what we want as a finished product as well. However, this is what you have to do to work on a site while it's live... you fiddle with things and little bits at a time improve so that your site doesn't go down for days at a time leaving customers without service.
This is definately not where we expected to be on Jan. 1. I wanted to be using the new vbulletin 4.0 gold software but, it is not quite as ready as advertised. Like many computer products it has bugs that the developers are likely to work out and improve on in the coming months so... big upgrade pushed back.
What we (Jim, myself, Miranda) discussed was the idea that the site needed to be user friendly for new players (what with the big advertising push we're starting in the next week and the upcoming Con) and so that had to be priority #1.
At the moment, graphics aren't the main focus, we're trying to get the code solid, the information laid out in a easy to find format for even the most basic of internet users (hence the bright buttons and easy navigation), etc ... (The splash page you like is actually stolen from my design for the 4.0 software. As you can see I was going some pretty nifty places with that but never got to even try to impliment the skin I was working on... which won't work with our current version.)
Our CMS (content management system, or website... in a word) is a third party product and is bulky and takes major time to edit. In short - I'm still working on it but, I wanted something up that was clean and easy to surf through for today while I work on a cooler spiffier design and more genre (nitch, if you will) specific design.
For now, speaking as MGP's Webmaster, thank you for your feedback and for suffering through our "saved by the bell" / "anime" phase ... and expect great things in days to come.

No suffering. Simply offering my opinion on what I see. Thanks for the quick response and helping me understand where you are coming from.
