      Default ST Rules Calls

      Hello All,

As the game grows and progresses there is often times a question that will come up about how a rule is interpreted, or how something is going to work, or just a 'Hey can I get/do . . .'

Sometimes we can answer these immediately because we've already set in stone how that will be handled. Sometimes we can't.

Most of the time, things like this we prefer to handle via E-mail.

E-mail gives us a memory. It tracks what is said, what is done.

I use Microsoft Outlook and I file each correspondence from each player in a special folder just for you. We are also creating a public repository for rules clarifications/additions that will also include any Custom Disciplines/Gifts/Etc that is developed by players.

The idea is not to blow you off, or to ignore your question. The idea is to deliver to you, our customers, a better level of customer experience, consistency in rules calls (not interpreted by the ST on site), and a running record for us of what has been decided.

Sometimes (not often but it will happen) an ST will make a call on site and "live" so to speak. They do so to the best of their ability and knowledge at that time. This does not mean I will not come along later and change that ruling.

I have put one person on Staff right now who is my "Research Person". I will, as things get busier, be hiring more for similar positions. His job right now is to research any rules questions, get back to me with book/page references and a suggestion on how he interprets the rule. Once a final decision is made, we then publish it out.

So when we ask you to e-mail us your rules questions, the purpose it to make sure we have a record and we develop a consistency of rules. If you are asking to "have" something, it gives us a record that we did give that to you and keeps us from relying on faulty human memory so that we don't go later "Who gave THAT out!"

I just wanted to put this out there to make sure folks understand what we are doing and why.

If you have questions, please feel free to post them here or to e-mail me!

      Auspex vs. Obfuscate

The rules in the book are clear on this, and they blow. I'm just putting up a recommendation that we move to old Cam A vs. O, and have it so that equal level gets a test, otherwise higher of the two trumps lower of the two.

My $.02. Can I get a, "Hell Yea!!"
