Thread: A belated gift or two (02/04/10 ATTN: Constantino & Sophia)

The limo pulls up and Tino steps out. He looks around for a few moments and enters the building. Upon seeing Alastair he smiles cordially.

"Nice place you have here, I guess you aren't just an accountant. I'm afraid I couldn't track down Sophia, so I hope if wasn't too terribly important that she be here."

Alastair smiles as Constantino enters, “I am still just an accountant gardening is a mere hobby so I found it fitting that I purchase a flower shop. Old establishments such as this deserve respect and should never be allowed to perish admist the here and now of todays society. Sophia sent me a text message and informed me that she would be unable to attend because Michealanglo is ill, but to be completely honest I have no clue as to whom she was referring.”

Alastair gestures towards the back room, “If you would please I have something for you in the office.”

"Michelangelo is what she has decided to call Kirsi's son, Constantino. Her facination with that child is disturbing."

Constantino shakes his head and follows Alastair's lead.

"I whole heartedly agree with your accesment of this building. It would truly be a shame for the modern world to swallow it up. That is one reason I am so fond of St. Christopher's Cathedral. Sadly, they don't build them like this anymore."

Alastair will walk to the backroom, placing his keys on the first poker table, “Please have a seat, I will fetch the item from the office.”

Alastair opens the office door and grabs the non-descript package from his desk. “They truly do not construct anything they way they used to, architecture today lacks the detail and the artistic beauty that it held when I was growing up at the turn of the 18th century. Not to mention that most buildings today are constructed from steel, glass, and other manufactured materials where as buildings of my time were constructed of much simpler materials primarily stone and marble. Today you only see marble as a cosmetic afterthought.”

Constantino takes a seat and watches closely as Alastair goes back into the office.

"It really is a shame sometimes. I do understand why the switch to steel has been made, it is much safer than stone. Just look at what happened in Haiti, two hundred thousand dead mostly due poor engineering and lack of modern materials. I hate the place, but wouldn't wish the entire population wiped out... Perhaps we should organize some assistance in rebuilding the church. From my understanding they lost the Arch-Bishop in the tragedy. That island has always lacked good spiritual leadership, I can't image how they will fare without even a trace of it now."

Alastair walks back to the table with the package, taking a seat opposite Constantino.

“It is actually rather funny that mention organizing assistance for a cause, but I will get into that in a second. I actually want to touch on something you mentioned earlier about Kirsi’s son. How is Kirsi dealing with Sophia’s unnatural fascination? If you have not noticed I have not been around the mansion much since the incident at the club. I lost a friend that night and due to my lacking any combat knowledge, I thought it best that I hire Droz as a temporary bodyguard. His one condition is that for the duration of his employment I stay with him and he is teaching me the way of the sword and the way of the shadows.”

Alastair leans back in his chair for a second in contemplation before continuing, “I attended JTM’s gathering last week and I met a rather interesting woman with emerald green eyes with whom I had a very intriguing conversation.’

Constantino shakes his head.

"I haven't gotten much of a chance to speak with Kirsi lately. Business is booming and time has been far too limited."

Constantino eyes the box a moment, before looking back up at Alastair with a cocky smile.

"Emerald green eyes you say? You were in good company. I'm quite fond of Emma, we're actually planning a trip soon. I'll be out of town a little over a month, I trust you will keep Sophia out of too much trouble."

Alastair smiles, “Keep Sophia out of trouble, that shouldn’t be too hard simply cut off her access to funds and transportation then she has nothing to do except stay in the mansion and pout. As for the Conversation that I had with signora Fitzpatrick, she is a very charming woman, we actually spoke about putting on a benefit for the families of the mortals who lost their lives at the hands of the sabbat that night. We came to the agreement that the event is to be something that signora Fitzpatrick has never witnessed, the highland games. She is obviously unable to travel to the isles to see the games in person as they are held during the day, so we decided that we shall bring the games to her and the city as a whole. There were a number of people at the gathering who expressed a willingness to help, it is merely a matter of organizing the event at this point. I will however need to leave the city for a brief period of time to travel back to Scotland before the event however in order to arrange for a few specific items for authenticities sake.”

Alastair slides the package across the table, “As for this little package it is a gift, however it is not just a gift to you and it does have a singular sting attached. During our conversation I learned that signora Fitzpatrick speaks the language of kings and she expressed to me that she would like for you to learn the language. The item in the package should be self-explanatory after you open it I will explain the singular attached string.”

"Cutting off her funds and mode of transportation may do more harm than good. It depends on how deep her infatuation with Constantino truly is. But I guess we still have a few weeks to decide the best course of action."

Constantino opens the box slowly listening to Alastair's story about the highland games.

"Highland games, never seen them myself either. I look forward to the event. Take all of the time you need to procure the items. I trust you can acquire me a proper kilt, and show me how to don it?"

Tino looks at the contents of the box and chuckles. "Rosetta Stone. Thank you Alastair, very thoughtful. So should I ask what the attached string entails?"
