A new shadow in the darkness (Att : Nosferatu Primogen)

Andrew Saint looked out of the shadow into the dimly lit street.

He'd only chosen this particular alley way to stand in as the dark shadows of the walls made him feel more secure. the motorcycle gear that he wore covered every inch of his upper torso and legs but even they couldn't hide the fact that he was a mountain on legs.

His huge size would have been impresive enough but the real scare factor came whenever anyone got close enough to see his destroyed face. It was twisted and scarred as if he's been caught in a blaze. The skin seemed melted in parts. Even amongst his own kind he was considered unpleasant.

His voice was rough with a rumbling tone. The kind of Baritone edge that made your spine shiver. He'd been wandering through the streets of this city hoping to make contact with some of the local Kindred.

He'd been driven out of the small town down south he'd made his home. His haven had been an old colonial wooden built house on the edge of an over run plantation on the limits of an Louisiana swamp. No one ever came near the place and it had suited him well for the last 175 years until two local school children had been found strangled in the swamp. As if he'd ever touch a child. He knew he was a monster, he fully understood his beast within, but children! Even he, twisted and horrendous as he was would never have fed nevermind killed a child.

That didn't stop the GOOD PEOPLE of Beaufort Bayeux from burning his house in the night. He's escaped the flames by a tunnel in his cellar and had stood in the trees, fists twisted nails digging into his own undead palms, silently raging against the injustice of it. Everything he'd owned, Paintings he had collected, a rare few with the owners knowledge. A Pickman, by god, his Pickman, hand painted by the man himself. Of course he'd no idea of Andrew's true nature, but after his paintings of the ghouls near Arkham, He relished the challenge of Andrew's scars.

Nothing he'd owned had been saved, just the clothes he had worn the night of the blaze, and the kit he'd left in the shed with his old bike.

He'd headed North, but not until he'd found the depraved childkiller. The night he'd returned to collect his wheels he's seen the wild eyed lunatic dragging a small girl deeper into the swamp. The last thing the fool had seen was the smile on Andrews face as he lifted him off the ground and pinned him to the trunk of an old oak. He hadn't even fet. just drove his back onto the broken twisted remains of a snapped branch that had punched through his ribcage and left him pinned like some sick parody of a mounted butterfly.

The little girl had collapsed and he'd carried her to the porch of a nearby farm house before leaving. Now he hid his face in the shadows and hoped for a friendly contact.

And after all this time, for it to be another Nosferatu to welcome him first to this city, was one of fates tricks. Yet even his own kind had been in a hurry to be gone from him. Now he had a phone number.....time to give it a call.


He pulled a surprising new smart phone from the side pocket of his bike jacket and tapped the numbers carefully with his large fingers.

"'Allo...my name is Andrew, I 'ope you were expecting my call.."

His deep voice tainted with a faint edge of Cajun French

[Yag D'rasill]

"Can I take your order please...."

Andrew was confused he read the paper again and realised he'd misdialed.
He tried again and waited for the call to be picked up

[Tina]

Elizabeth answers the phone "Hello? Ah yes, Mr. Calhoun told me to expect your call. We need to get you settled in."

"Where should you wish me to go from 'ere, Madame."

(Not a problem I dialed the wrong number )

Andrew looked at the phone for a coment considering his next words.
"Ah yes, Mr Cahill was kind enough to give me your number and suggested we speak. I look forward to meeting you in person as I'm new to the city and need some assitance in finding my way around. "

Andrew reflects on the fact that as usual there would be few places in this town where someone of his kind would be able to go without causing a major scene.

"As with most of my 'family' I have the face, how do you say? A face that only a mother would love.'
His voice gave a good natured rumble but it wasn't difficult to pick out an undertone of resignatio fed by years of isolation.

"As you can imagine I am reluctant to book into a motel as I'm sure that days of villagers and pitchforks are behind us thankfully but I still dislike being made to feel unwelcome

Andrew looked at the phone for a coment considering his next words.

Elizabeth smiles as she listens. "Come meet me at the baseball field and we will talk. It is in our area of town and no one is there at the moment. I shall be waiting for you. "

"But of course Madam, as you wish. Which part of town is 'our part?"

[Yag D'rasill]

Andrew wandered through the night checking out the parks and other area's of town untill he ended up in the shadows of a worn out set of bleachers.

The lights from the few working lamps scattered around the fence line, illuminate the scruffy grass and worn out pitchers mount of this tired looking scrap of land.

The outfield looks like it has seen better days. Andrew stands quietly in the shadows of the seating, waiting and watching for the approach of his new primogen.

Elizabeth sighs as she realizes she hung up before giving directions. She calls Andrew back and gives him directions to the park
