“Hello, Tom. Well just minutes ago the Council convened for the night, capping three nights of heated negotiations. Both sides claim that they have been looking for compromise, and there has even been report of Private offers to assist the negotiations. And yet, immediately after the session ended, Police Union Representative Tracy Minot came out and addressed the media. Here’s what she had to say”

“All of this on the heels of the charges against Detective Lawson, and now we have been told that 60 police officers have already committed to the Saturday Walk out.”

“Tom, it looks like Alderman Heath Melon, the City Council’s lead negotiator, is about to make a statement as well.”

“We wanted to compromise here but the City cannot rob Peter to pay Paul. The Police Union will just have to accept that fact before any further movement can come about. Thank you for your time.”

“Well Tom, as you just heard it does not look like this is going to end by Saturday. Again 60 officers have committed to walk out on strike Saturday at 12 PM barring some new development."

"From Lamar City Hall, this is Jill Ryan, back to you, Tom.”
