Lamar resident, Carl Thompson, was pronounced dead on arrival at Barton County Community Hospital after sustaining injuries from a hit and run accident. Carl was jogging near the St. Christopher’s Cathedral where he had been working as an assistant grounds keeper. Thirteen years ago, Carl Thompson was found not guilty by reason of insanity for sexual crimes against ten women and children.

Mr. Thompson was recently released on a work parole program two months ago after volunteering to undergo a new chemical sterilization and rehabilitation program.
