Hello everyone, and welcome to a quick introduction to The Evening Gazette.

This feature is nearly on it's feet again, and will be feeding all you bloodsuckers and (eventually) hairy beasts information on a monthly basis with all the dirty news we can think up.

"but Jon!" you might ask, "What is the Evening Gazette?"

1> It is a conglomeration of IC news sources culled from the area. It will include news stories from Newpapers, monthly publications, TV Newscasts, Radio Newsfeeds, and even Investigative Entertainment sources.

2> The articles appearing herein will be representative of news items from similar sources throughout the area. We are NOT going to print the entirety of every possible news article nor newscast. You can, with high confidence, assume that if something appears here, *someone* wants you to see it.

3> PC's can and will have direct effect upon the news articles posted within this feature. The Staff makes no claim to the veracity or timeliness of articles that we'll be posting here, except that the quoted IC sources will have been quoted verbatim... in MOST cases. CAVEAT EMPTOR

4> The Staff will guarrantee that this will not become a soapbox to tell you, The Players, how to play your characters or "win" the Jyhad or the War for Gaia. That's not what this is about. If your IC action comes up 5 times in one month, consider that you've just been elevated to the status of Story Maker, and then sit back and try to dodge the fallout.

Also, let me go over what it is NOT

The Evening Gazette is not:

A> A single news source feed (e.g. CNN, The NYTimes, U.S. News, All Things Considered, etc...)

B> A contact feeding you information on what you need to know and what is going on.

C> The Voice of God. Assume what you want about what appears in the Evening Gazette, but unless you wrote it, understand that you're making an assumption.

D> A soapbox for anyone OOC. We have no axes, nor stones to grind them upon.

E> Anyone's direct influence/contact/ally in the Media, nor will bonding one of the NPC's garner you Influence or control in media or otherwise.


So, what is the Gazette?

What this is all about is simple, we want to provide a deeper and more interactive setting for the Players and your characters. The Gazette is an ear to the ground, and an echo chamber. Take it with a pinch of salt, a slice of lime, and a gold brick if you want. But we, the Staff of MGP, will look forward to it making your game better, more inclusive, and more interactive.
