It has been nearly four weeks since the horrible fire at local nightclub Indigo and yet, Lamar’s finest have produced not a single arrest in regards to this investigation. What needs to happen for this investigation to produce results? Assistant to the Mayor’s Office, Michael Perrino spoke briefly today, stating that the Mayor’s Office will not let this be swept aside, and that the City fully intends to see the perpetrators brought to Justice.

In an interview earlier today, Detective in Charge Terrence Lawson told the Morning Times that the LPD was actively following several leads at this time, but did not want to tip their hand to potential suspects.

Having spent my years with the LPD, discretion is not a concept that is foreign to me, but there comes a time when action must be concise and unmistakable. Does not Lamar deserve the steady gaze of Justice keeping her streets safe at night? Don’t the victims of that terrible night deserve the comfort of Justice?

Detective Lawson, you have done much for our city in the past, but we will not sit by and watch your inaction allow those responsible for that horrific attack continue to roam free.

Give us Justice, Detective Lawson. We need it.
