The woman in the rose patterned dress walks toward the building with a purpose. She is carrying a brown paper bag. She continuously glances around trying to see if someone is following her. Maddalena watches Otto curiously as she enters the building, nodding to him.

Otto, a non descript man wearing his trademark white shirt, fedora and suspenders gives a pleasant node to Maddalena, she isn't anything special to him. He has certain expectations of the place she just entered, but you never know until you see it first hand.

Before entering he checks the block over, an older part of town but he seems pleased that it has been kept up as well as it has. With a final nod to know one in particular he enters.

Maddalena watches Otto and others, sifting through each person one by one. Staring at them, then shaking her head. She speaks quietly, "Bubble boil trouble and toil. Where is the one I seek..." She gets a drink but sets it on her table and proceeds to ignore it. She continues her search, hand gripping the bag very tightly.

Otto gives off the 'vibe' of being new to this place. Not many eyes rest on him for more then a moment so Maddalena's attention is something he notes himself. He idly moves through the crowd under the guise of finding a place to sit. His course will eventually take him to where Mad is seated.

Maddalena smiles as Otto sits. "I was wondering if it was you. I thought it was, but you look more ordinary than most so I wasn't for certain. Please sit with me and chat for a while about Chess games."

Otto takes the seat and smiles "What's a dame like you doing in a place like this?" their is a certain sincerity to his comment that you rarely find. "I'd be delighted to sit with you..... and Chess....I dabble a little....bit rusty, but what part of the game did you want to talk about" he flags a waiteress "Brew please, whatever ya got".

She laughs lightly. "A dame like me? Trouble follows dames like me. I see it in the mirror every day, makes me want to shatter it. As for the chess, I was wondering, do you prefer to play White or Black?" She arches an eyebrow as if the game has started.

Otto chuckles slightly and adjusts his hat "I've known some troubling dames in my life, no doubt about it...but to answer your question. I'd say like any game, fella should be ready to play either side, course it is a different game depending on the side, but equally enjoyable." he considers "What about yourself.. you more a black or a white kinda gal?" Otto adds as an afterthought "Can I get you something to drink?"

She indicates the untouched glass of wine next to her. "I appreciate the offer. I personally always play White. It has been advantageous so far. Stan and I used to play years ago. Do you really play black? Fascinating!" She smiles.
