Ash stops in mid-stride as Calhoun mentions the Assamites wanting to join the Camarilla, "Forgive me my directness, but are you serious about this? The assassins want to join the very organization that cursed them centuries ago? I am sorry, that is just not something one hears every day." Ash continues walking at this point.

"I doubt Lazarus has heard of this, though for the moment he is allowing Mr. Valentine to remain in the city as the responsibility of my family. I should probably bring it to his attention the next time we talk. If one were to wish to confirm this information, where would I even start? Unfortunately I do not know any outside of out city and a few elders of our family in France that probably wouldn't wish to have one as young as I bothering them."

Ash looks seriously at Calhoun. "Only when it was in their best interest or someone paid them better to keep it quiet."

Ash continues, "I am sorry, I was not questioning YOUR word, Mr. Calhoun. I was simply stating my disbelief that the Assassins would want to join the very organization that sought to keep them locked away from the rest of us in their mountain. What has changed that would make them forget what was done to them? We are not a forgiving lot in general." Ash pauses, "If there is someone that can shed more light on the subject I am sure that Lazarus would be most grateful to speak with this person."
