Thread: calling on the studio 01-11-10 (attn: Ash)

Ash looks up from his workbench at the door, seeing Logan there he waves to someone just out of sight of the door. "Ginelle would you please let Mister Sands in." A young blond woman steps into view and opens the door leading Logan into the studio. "Thank you my dear." The blond moves back to her own workbench and starts to working again.

Ash stands and offers his hand, "Logan. Welcome. How can I be of service to you this evening?"

Logan takes Ash's hand and gives it a firm shake.

"Thanks for seeing me, man."

"Actually, I have something I want to ask you." He pulls a piece of paper from his leather jacket and unfolds it, handing it to Ash.

"I need a sculpture. As big as you can make it, without it being insane, or anything."

Ash takes the paper and looks it over. "Well let's see. Could probably go as big as a full size horse if you wanted. Second, would be what material you want it made out of. I work in bronze, stone, or clay usually. Third, the time frame that you need it in. Finally, once all that is determined, how you want to pay for the work. I think that covers most of it."

"Stone would be great for the material. I would *like* it to be life sized, but I get that it'd be a fuckload of rock, right? As for Price? Well, I was wondering about that. I can pay cash in payments, if it's alot."

Logan waist for Ash to respond.

"Its not at much stone as you might think. It is sculpted in parts and then assembled. It will be costly for that big of a piece though. I am sure we can come to some agreement about payment. The biggest factor in the cost is going to be the time frame. When are you going to need it done by?" Ash looks again at the paper and starts planning the costs for materials awaiting Logan's response.

"Well.. Soon.. Ish? Like, in side of a year, I hope. How long does it normally take for this sort of thing?"

"I can have it done in six months maybe sooner depending on what other commissions come in the mean time. As for the cost, that much black marble is going to cost about 15 thousand. Then my time." Ash picks up a pad and starts jotting some numbers down. Finally he looks up, "Full sized horse statue, black marble, six month time frame. We are looking at about 35-40 thousand."

Logan listens quietly as Ash describes how long it might take. He nods slowly, his nodding stopping as the price hits 15k... then 35 then 40,000.

"Uhhhhhh Dude...."

"Look, there's no way I can raise that kind of cash. Maybe I'll look at something smaller..."
