Thread: Who is she?! (Attn: Kalie, 02/22/2010)

Kalie arrives promptly on time and is escorted back by Ginelle. She will speak a thank you to the woman before she departs and then will turn her attention fully to Ash.

"Good evening sir. I hope this night finds you well?"

Her eyes glance up on the statue she had seen the other night at Lydia's party.

Ash snaps out of the reverie that he was in at the sounds of Kalie's voice.

"Ah, Kalie, a pleasure that you could come. My nights of late find me troubled, but nothing that should trouble our meeting. And you? How do the nights find you and your childe?"

Ash stands and walks across the room towards Kalie while he speaks, both toward Kalie and the statue itself.

"These nights find us hopeful. Thank you for the inquiry."

Kalie nods to the statue. "Your skill to bring forth the beauty within stone is amazing, Mr. Winters. I would venture to say you sire is quite proud of your abilities."

Ash frowns at the mention of his sire. "I highly doubt our sire is proud of anything anymore. She parted this existence some five years hence. And she could have cared less anyways. My sister and I lost her notice long ago and she had moved on to her next childe and then the next and then..." Ash trails off, but the obvious implication is that this happened many more times.

Ash shakes off the gloom of the moment, "I do thank you though for your praise of my work. This is my current masterpiece and was created over a few nights following the eve of the New Year. This statue is the reason I wished to meet with you though. For you are the first person to know who it is."

A look of confusion passes over Ash's face followed almost as quickly by a look of intense longing towards the statue. Looking at Kalie, "I hate more than you can know, to admit that I do not know who it is. Which cannot be, because I only sculpt those I know and have studied."

Kalie eyes narrow a bit in confusion as he speaks, but then she looks down at the statue for a moment.

"Her name is Ilsyd De Leraunt, very beautiful and very famous Archon in France to the Toreador Justicar. I saw her in passing once when I was at a conclave in Venice with my sire.”

Kalie lifts her eyes to look once more at Ash.

Ash sits down on the bench nearest him with his head in his hands. "An archon to the Toreador justicar? and I can't remember her? Why would I not remember her, but I can sculpt her likeness as if I had studied her for nights to find her every nuance. Ilsyd De Leraunt." The last is almost whispered in reverence and the whole conversation as if more speaking to himself than to Kalie.

Kalie takes up a sit next to him quietly. "Perhaps she has come in the form of a vision to you for some reason?"

Ash shakes his head. "My art doesn't work that way. I study my subject with the sight gifted to my clan and gain all the insight I can into the person before I begin. I try to put the moods of the subject into the work as well. I have a perfect memory for the details. I feel as if I know her most intimately, but when I try to bring up any memory related to her it is like trying to catch falling sand." Ash sighs.

"When I say I have a perfect memory," Ash stands and walks to a bust of an African woman with cornrow beaded hair (http://tiny.cc/CZ3z0). "This is Amara. She was a 36 year old mother of 3 girls, Adele, Eshe, and Sauda. I met her in Paris 12 years ago as she came to pick up a painting that one of my sires newest progeny had made. Her husband was a business man named Paulo. We spoke for no more than five minutes and I can repeat the conversation word for word. Point out another and I can tell you every detail of the interaction I had with that person before I sculpted them from memory."

Ash points back to Ilsyd, "Of her I don't have the slightest recollection."
