The Station (att:Gangrel)
Mackenzie sits on the floor of the main room, her arms wrapped around her knees, her knees pulled to her chest and her head on her knees. What the hell was all that about? The gathering and afterwards had taken a toll on her psyche. The talk with Meg had been insightful and very informative, indeed. The conversation, or lack of conversation, with Horacio frustrating. Mackenzie sits in quiet contemplation. They will either call me or find me here if they need something.

A.J. walks into the station dressed in his usual black t-shirt and blue jeans. He knew he had missed a gathering and figured that someone from his clan would be wondering why. So, he just decided to pop in to the station, just to check in and see how things went. As he comes in he can see Mackenzie curled up on the floor and he couldn't help but wonder why. He walks over to her and takes a seat beside her, raising his knees to his chest and resting his elbows on them comfortably. Its only then that he speaks, "Everything okay?"
-
Mackenzie raises her head when A.J. speaks. She looks at him and smiles faintly. "I'm fine. Just mulling over the night. I didn't see you at the gathering." She frowns. "Is everything okay with you?"

A.J. smiles and puts his hand around the back of her neck as a friend would and says, "Trust me Mackenzie, you don't have to worry about me. I missed the gathering because I was out with Keela. We were enjoying an evening at the new restaurant. But I can tell by the looks of you, that you are worried about something. If you want to talk about it, I'm more than willing to listen."
-
Mackenzie smiles. "That sounds nice." She shakes her head. "I'm just feeling a bit overwhelmed is all. I thought it would be easier to ensure everyone's safety and watch out for the clan's interests. I'm not complaining. I enjoy the position I am in and am not looking to give it up." She looks at A.J. and there is fire behind her blue eyes. "Although, I do have a question for you..." She shakes her head again as if to focus on the important matters.
"There are several tasks for our clan to complete for the Prince and although they may seem easy tasks, with politics involved, nothing is easy." Mackenzie frowns. "Anyone who is independent or not who they say they are that are inside our clan must be brought to the Prince ASAP. If we fail to do so prior to the next gathering, it will be final death for them. I have spoken with Corin and Horacio and they assure me there is no one hiding in our clan. We also need to provide a list of the members of our clan, including Elders, and positions to Mr. Cocteau prior to the next gathering. We also need to discuss as a clan what we can do to better the City. The Prince's speech was all about making the city better and being a better us."
Mackenzie shrugs. "Colonel Walker stated we would talk as a clan and respond to the Prince within a few days. The parks and recreation venue was suggested by the Prince. Also the boundary of Brujah and Gangrel territory needs to be clarified in the instance of Praire State Park, since it is technically in College Hill. The Brujah aren't trying to take it, just clarify who is responsible."
Mackenzie smiles. "So a nice dinner sounds fabulous compared to all of that." Her smile fades. "And then there are some issues within clan, but I would prefer to wait on those discussions until I receive more information." She opens her phone and checks it. Frowning, she puts it back away.

A.J. slides his arm casually around her shoulders and pulls her, knocking her into him and just holds her there like a big brother. He hadn't realized all the pressure she had been under and it pleased him that she would turn to him for this kind of situation. He speaks softly to her, "Well, as it pertains to people not being who they say, you can rest assured that I am a Gangrel, even if I was supposed to be embraced Toreador, I am what I say I am, so that should ease your mind a bit there."
He looks around the station a bit before looking back at her and says, "I think the fact that we've already discussed improving our territory speaks to our clan looking to improve the city. I'm about to have my grand opening of Gippetto's so, that speaks to our improving the city."
He shrugs as he thinks about the borders of Prairie State Park, "As for Prairie State Park, we should have Kendov sit down with Mr. Mogul and discuss the boundries there. For now, as long as they have no issues with us and we have none with them regarding it, I think it can wait for Kendov to get back."
He thinks about what she said about dinner lastly and smiles as he looks into those beautiful blue eyes that seem almost angelic to him, "As for a nice dinner, I'd be honored to take you to a nice quiet dinner some time."
-
"Hey!" Mackenzie says when A.J. pulls her to him. She smiles and lets herself lean into him. "Quiet dinner, huh? Is there such a thing...and if so, it sounds kinda boring." She smiles mischieviously at him.

He grins back at her, equally mischeviously and just says, "It doesn't have to be boring, if we don't want it to be boring."
-
Mackenzie smiles. "Thank you for being you and bringing a real smile to my face. I do have a question for you. If you don't mind..."

A.J. smiles back at her and shrugs, "Ask away. I don't mind questions." He smiles bigger, warming up to her, his mind suddenly remembering the first time they met and her rather cavalier question.
