The bass pounded and the people swarmed below on the dance floor as "Venus' " music poured through the speakers. The lines at the bar were moving quickly and never empty and the line wrapping around the building went on for at least a block. It was meant to be a joyous occasion.
The month of advertisement, the phoenix rising from the flame. The return of Indigo. But the man staring down from the VIP section, the owner, had no joy welling inside of him. He shook his head ever so slightly as the reached into his pocket and produced the cell phone. He hit the accept call button of the touch screen and closed his eyes walking back toward the office. He slumped into his chair and ran a hand over his bald head.
"No Guiseppe, she hasn't contacted me."
"She took the sword? Dammit."
"Have you heard from Cugino Torin?"
"I see."
"Send the car with Vinchenzo. Then stay with the children and the bodyguards."
Constantino hung up the phone and looked around the room, his eyes scanning the lands of the dead. He dialed a new number.
"Mr. Brown? Constantino Giovanni. I'll leave a note with the guards to allow you into the club. Kirsi does not leave your sight, Do you understand? Her life is in your hands. Don't let me down Mr. Brown."
Again he hangs up the phone as the limosine pulls up out front. Again he dials a new number.
"Cugino Torin. Something has happened. We need to circle the wagons. Gather the others and make sure the children are safe."
Constantino walks to the Limo as his ghoul holds an umbrella over his head. Still speaking to his cousin on the phone.
