Thread: You Died in my Arms (attn: ST only) 5/9/10 early morning

"I... I don't know." Her eyes narrow, she looks off to the side thoughtfully. "I can remember..." Her mouth works wordlessly as her eyes begin to twitch ever so, indicating a painful memory that she wishes she did not have. Closing her eyes tightly she shakes her head, trying to make the thought go away.

"I'm starving... do you mind if I eat while we talk?"

A.J.watches her closely and suspiciously, but at the same time there is obviously something in his eyes that betrays his feelings. It was obvious he still felt love for her in his eyes. When she asks if it's okay for her to eat while they talk his expression softens and he slides onto a barstool at the island counter at the edge of the kitchen. He says softly, almost a whisper. "Of course you can, Caitlin."

He watches her a moment before saying, "Take your time, we have the rest of the night to figure this out."

Tossing her red hair over her shoulder she eats with the frantic desperation of a woman who hasn't eatten in decades, licking her fingers for every drop, not letting a single crumb get away - clearly not as she once would have been.

"I don't know what you ... Mmmm ... expect me to say AJ." She swallows and speaks again, "I don't remember much of anything really. Just ... shadows of things and honestly, it scares the hell out of me so I don't want to remember." She takes another monster bite of the Tuna Sandwhich.

"I can't get why it isn't a good thing that I'm here... I mean... hell if you thought I was dead," She chews and then speaks with food still in her mouth, "should we be celebrating the fact that somehow, some way, you were wrong?"

A.J. watches her eat with a ravenous appetite that he isn't familiar with. He frowns as she speaks about celebrating her being alive. He walks over to her and places his hand on her cheek, then lets it slide to her neck trying to make it obvious he isn't checking for a pulse. As he does this he speaks and says, "I want to celebrate. I really do, but, its hard to get past the fact that I held you in my arms when you took your last breath. I saw the light leave your eyes."

She stands up, no pulse in her neck leaving you wondering how she's walking at all... but then again - in the face of all that's natural, you walk too.

Her body presses against his as she stands before him, her sandwhich falls to the floor as she raises up her hands and puts them on either side of his face and pulls him in for a familar and passionate kiss. Her mouth is slightly drier than seems right but the kiss is none the less full of fire. As she releases him she looks into his eyes longly. "AJ... I'm here and nothing is going to seperate us ever again." She smiles. "Except for maybe a nice new york strip steak." she chuckles. "I could seriously go for a steak I think."

A.J. hesitates a moment when she kisses him, but its only the briefest of moments. He returns the kiss, waves of emotions buried deep in the past coming back to the forefront as he wraps his arms tightly around her. He wonders if this is a dream or worse a nightmare that is about to turn ugly. When she pulls away and mentions wanting steak he leans his head in the direction of the freezer and says, "I do not think that there are any thawed, but there might be some in the freezer." He then pauses and considers what she said about never being separated again. He looks at her and says, "I do not know how it is you are back, but I am glad that you are. I really am. I am just concerned about what has made this possible."

Caitlin will take his hand and squeeze it, kissing him again until she is forced to double over in pain. "God... I'm so hungry!" She groans.

When she is finally able to stand upright again, "Let's get that steak going and then, if you're up to it, I'd to take a stroll down memory lane." She runs a finger suggestively down his cheek.

A.J. returns her kiss once again, still not sure of what to make of it all. When she doubles over in pain instinct kicks in and he immediately tries to comfort her. His mind continues to race, trying to figure out what she is or what is causing the pain. He can't help but feel helpless and ignorant to how to help her. When the pain subsides and she begins to flirt with him again, he grows even more worried. Its obvious he completely and truly does care for this woman, but isn't sure what to make of the situation.

He opts to continue on with the situation and walks over to the refrigerator and manages to find a steak already thawed. He pauses a moment and wonders if it was for something Keela had planned for the next evening. He sets it on the counter and turns to look at Caitlin again and says, "I guess it is our lucky night."

Quietly she takes her seat and watches AJ cook. She seems to be deep in thought for a long while but eventually she asks nervously, "If you thought I was dead... how ... what did you think brought me back?"
