Thread: Love hurts deeply (Attn: Domino)

Once Corin stops singing she can hear a light clapping. Before she can turn to look Domino sits down next to her on the piano bench. He is not wearing his usual cloak, just his usual black clothes he wears underneath the cloak.

"You play beautifully. What fuels that song this night?"

"Many things unfortunately."

She turns to look at him.

"My relationship with God is strained lately. I saw the woman from last night again tonight, nothing like last night. I killed Frogger. I couldn't save that woman the other night. A woman came to Eternal Echoes the other night looking for Michael. Mackenzie is acting like she owns the clan. Kendov closed the station. The three kindred I loved more than anything were all killed."

She lays her head on his shoulder.

"I give up."

"Well you better be careful. If I didn't know any better id say you were experiencing life."

Domino looks over at Corin's head on his shoulder.

"You are still rather young. You have to understand things change, friends change, loved ones come and go. Mortals are fortunate enough to only have a single measure of life to deal with. We are quite tested by our extended existences. If there's one thing I've learned from all my years in this world, its that its always changing. Its when its all seemingly too much that it all seems to fall into place. Now, I thought you were a scrappy young gangrel. What with all this wimpering?"

Domino lifts Corin's head and looks into her eyes and smiles.

"It's too much. I used to want what Emma and Constantino have...but now I don't think it's even possible...all I'm ever going to have are those fleeting moments."

She looks him in the eyes.

"Scrappy young gangrel...I haven't been gangrel ever. I haven't done my clan justice. I came here and they all talked about family, and it was so alluring. Now I realize the only family I have is Jano and Lenore...he's been my brother for so very long."

She sits straiter.

"Guilt plagues me no more. People die, it happens. I'll just move on, it's all I can do. I have the studio, and I have this place..."

She places a hand on his face.

"...and I have you. You are a true friend Domino."

Domino nods to Corin.

"Sometimes to find something you just have to stop looking. Remember that."

Domino straightens up and faces the piano.

"So how do you play this thing?"

Corin smiles as Domino faces the piano, she places his hands where they should be, then places her hands on top of his. She slowly presses down on some of his fingers to play a chord.

"It's pretty basic really. Is there a song you really like and would want to learn to play?"

Domino watched intently as Corin guided his hands and had him play the note. A small smile on his face. When she asks him for a song he stops and thinks for a minute. He pulls his hands off the keys and stares at them.

"Um. I don't know any songs."

Corin looks at Domino and frowns a little, she had not wanted to upset him.

"Well we are going to have to fix that."

She takes his hands and places them on the piano again. She slowly guides his hands through a song, repeating the process only once before Domino takes over the keys. She starts tapping her leg for the tempo and Domino picks up easily. She watches as he plays the song by himself, then asks him to wait. She moves and goes to get the rest of the band, they filter in and start to play with Domino on the piano, and Corin sings along with the song.

Domino focuses as Corin teaches him the song. His memory containing each key, each note. (eidetic memory) He just learns how to play the song when Corin tells him to wait. He sits there wondering what she's doing. When she returns with the band he looks at her like she's crazy. He starts plaing when she tells him to, not paying attention to the others in the room. Domino is completely focused on what he's doing at the piano.
