Thread: Pile of ash... (Attn: Corin)

Not seeing him out front with everyone else and getting worried Lydia starts to walk around the building looking. Finally coming around a corner she sees him standing there angry with Corin. Walking up she looks at both of them and then gently touches his arm. "Are you alright?" As she waits for an answer she looks at Corin "Corin You ok?

Ash jumps at the touch as he is focused on Corin just after the fight. Noticing Lydia for the first time. "She killed the one I tried to keep from being destroyed." Anger makes him seem to bite off each word as he says them.

Looking at him and speaking soflty "Did you ask her why?"
Looking to Corin "Surely she had a good reason to attack"

"IT WASN'T STAKED! IT WAS GOING TO KILL YOU!"

She looks at him with anger in her eyes. She had just saved his life and he would never know that the beast was standing behind him. Tears start to form in her eyes as she looks at him.

"I took a HUGE risk tonight for the Camarilla, for this City, all because I wanted to be a part of something. And you spit in my face when I save your life!"

She turns away from him, kicking the pile of ashes on the ground.

"That one there...I knew. In fact I knew most of them. Tonight I killed kindred that I had once called family, all for the sake of the Camarilla."

She turns back around to face him again.

"But don't thank me or anything. I could have just stood there and then the pile of ashes on the ground would be yours..."

She looks at Lydia, then turns back to Ash. The tears that fall from her eyes only mingle with the blood from the wounds she has taken.

"Then again, it's only my word against yours, and who would believe me anyway."

Ash nearly sputters with anger as she rails against him. "Thank you?! YES, THANK YOU for killing the only member of the Sabbat that we might have had a chance to learn anything from. I took this one away for that very reason. There isn't a single kindred left in there that came with the Sabbat. Just piles of ashes litter the ground, much like whats left in the dirt here." Ash growls in frustration as he continues.

Looking to Lydia, hoping the sight of her will calm him a bit, he opens his clenched fists and the claws that are covered in the blood of the slain slowly painfully slide back into his body.

He pauses a moment, "Does it look like I am defenseless? Do you think that I cannot protect myself? DO YOU THINK THAT I WOULD BE AT THE COLONEL'S LEFT HAND IF I COULDN'T HAVE TAKEN THIS WHELP DOWN?"

Ash visibly has to settle his rising beast down and his anger takes a cold edge but his next words are very calm. "A simple warning would have sufficed. But instead you had to destroy the kindred. You say they were family and that you risked much for the Camarilla tonight. What secret did this one hold over you that it could not survive for that secret to come to light? And thus take away the only source of information the Camarilla could have gained from this fight."

Ash's body is as still as a corpse, no eye movement, no nervous ticks, no falsified breathing, nothing to betray him as a living creature as he speaks the last few sentences.

Emma looks towards the shouts and noticing that Benjamin is heading towards it, she refrains from interfering.

With a sigh "Corin, it does look bad. Is that what you were trying to do? Trying to destroy the one thing that might work against you?"
Once again placing her hand on his arm hoping to calm him "Ash, give her a minute to explain."

"DO YOU THINK THAT IT WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU ANYTHING? IF YOU WANT ANSWERS ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK SOMEONE THAT WAS IN ALLEGIENCE WITH THE DAMN SABBAT! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW THEY OPERATE! NONE OF YOU DO!"

A rage she has never known builds up inside of her. She knows that if she does not calm down then she will most likely kill Ash, and possibly Lydia. The beast grows inside her, and she lets out a loud, piercing roar like that of a lioness. She swings at the wall nearest her, doing more damage to her body.

She knows that she has probably betrayed herself. She turns to look at Ash and Lydia one last time before she walks past them, turning only to say one last thing.

"They held no secret over me...it is the secret I hold over myself and punish myself for every night that lead to this. I do not think that you cannot defend yourself, but I do think that you would not have had enough time. If you want to know if I speak the truth, you have the power of sight, use it. But right now, if I don't leave, I will most likely do something that I will regret."

With that she leaves the building not turning back, only to find herself looking at a group of kindred who fought tonight. Feelings of anger, pain, joy, sadness, and hope rise in her all at once. She looks at the building one last time and all the feelings melt away as she can only think of her anger.

Once again she let's out a loud roar, and hits the building again.

Amanda walked with the Colonel at a steady pace, still worried about his arm and other injuries. Hearing her brother yell out, she glances at the Colonel and moves her much faster until seeing her brother motionless in front of Corin. Stopping dead in her tracks, she looks at the scene and watches for a moment.
