Mackenzie stands up slowly, her fists clenched. "Okay, no problem." She walks a few steps towards the door. "So if everyone is wanting to use you, huh? Well, I don't want to use you, just help you, otherwise I wouldn't be here. If you think I'm using you, I won't be an issue anymore." She walks over and stares out the cabin door.
A.J. slides out of the hammock and walks over to Corin on the floor. He kneels down beside her and takes her hand in his and looks over the wound. He looks into her eyes and says softly, "I am not using you, nor will I ever. I care for you Corin, more than you know."
Mackenzie turns and watches Corin. "Did that feel good?" She smirks, knowing Corin's penchant for pain.
"Listen, I don't take well to people thinking I'm using them, or that I want something from them. I don't make connections with people. I never have and this is a prime example of why. No matter what I do my actions are perceived differently. I'm nowhere near perfect as a person or a friend, but damnit I'm trying!"
She watches A.J. comfort Corin and a rush of feelings shoot through her: anger, frustration, and confusion.
God, I just wish Kendov would get here. I wonder what Horacio would think of Corin's action or if that's just normal for the two of them.
Mackenzie shrugs. "To me it sounded like you have a lot of people who care about you and want to keep you safe. You have all of the people to call on for help and protection." She closes her eyes and leans against the doorframe. "I didn't hear you say anyone said, 'Choose me or them'."
Mackenzie opens her eyes widely at Corin's statement. When Corin starts over to Mackenzie, she shuts her eyes tightly and hits the back of her head on the doorframe. "Fuck me."
