She walks around the old cabin in Prairie State Park debating on what she is going to do. She knew what AJ had told her and still she had doubts in her mind about what had been said. If he truly wanted to trust her, then why not ask her to help him in his mission. She knew he was here to take down a pack of Sabbat, and she could help, so why not ask?
She starts to pace back and forth in the main room. She starts to think of the dream she had, the directions that she could take at this point of her life. She thinks of what Theo told her about getting on a page, and letting people know what that page is. But what page should she choose?
She pulls out her phone and sends a text to AJ asking him to meet her at the cabin. She then thinks about the rest of the Gangrel, and wonders what she would tell them. She starts to type up a text to the rest of the Gangrel, but then closes her phone and puts it in her pocket and thinks that she'll talk to them all after she finishes her conversation with AJ.
A.J. could see a figure from the beaten path as he approached the cabin, pacing in the window. He wondered who it could be since it was a known Gangrel property. His question was answered though the moment his phone went off and he read the message from Corin. He sent a reply to let her know he was only about 40 feet away from the cabin and would be there in a couple of minutes.
He turned off of the beaten path and walked directly to the cabin. His mind lingering on what had happened the last time that he and Corin had been at this place together. As he ascends the steps, he pushes the thoughts out of his mind. He knocks twice and enters, letting her know that he was there. Once inside he shuts the door and leans against and looks at her with questions in his eyes and says, "Hello, Corin. It's good to see you again."
She does not stop pacing until he speaks, then looking into his eyes she see's he that there is something in his eyes. He wants to know why he is there. She continues to pace back and forth again, trying to think of how to say what she wants to say.
She stops and looks at him, "Thanks for coming AJ." she paces back and forth again.
A.J. watched as she paced. He couldn't help be notice how good she looked in her jeans and short shirt. He didn't let her pace long before he decided to break the silence. He asks quietly, "What is on your mind? Corin?"
A.J. looks at her curiously. He had thought they had resolved everything from their past and everything that had occurred that evening. He looks her in the eyes and asks, "What is it you would like to talk about? Once that is taken care of I have something to talk to you about too."
A.J. wraps his arms around her and just holds her there. He still doesn't know why he is there, but, he's more than agreeable to wait until she is ready to talk about what she wants to discuss. He says, "I understand. When you're ready to ask or say what you need to, just do it."
A.J. smiles ear to ear at her as she brings up the subject of why he had came to Lamar. It was the same exact thing that he had wanted to talk to her about. It bothers him to see the hurt in her eyes and he brushes his hand against her cheek in an attempt to wipe it way from her eyes. He speaks to her softly, "Apparently, the same thing is on both of our minds tonight. To answer your question though, it wasn't because I didn't trust you. I realized just earlier tonight, that this mission has been what has been driving me for several decades. The reason I never asked anyone for help is, deep down, I know it was something I couldn't do on my own and part of me wasn't ready to find something else to drive my existence."
He leans back against the wall, still holding her. He tilts his head back until it bounces softly off of the door and he looks back into her eyes. He continues softly, "I know now, that I need help to take them down. I want your help. I want the rest of the clan's help if they are willing. It's time I end this chapter in my existence, so I can move forward."
