Maddalena turns to Emma after Carlak has left and before her briefing starts. Her ears and nose still showing signs of dried blood, her body showing signs of the mental stress she endured, she looks just plain worn out.
"Ms. Fitzgerald. I would ask a moment of your time to ensure my understanding is correct enough to accomplish this task."

Before they move off, Miranda will step forward and give Maddalena a weary curtsy. She looks just as tired and ragged as the rest, but deep inside her eyes, something fierce and exultant burns.
"Madam Scatallia, if there is anything I might offer as assistance to you in the coming days, please do not hesitate to ask me."
She inclines her head again, and moves back so that they can leave.

"Thank you Miss Montreve."
Maddalena turns back to Emma. "I cannot apologize enough, Fitzpatrick. My mind is a bit frazzled. I simply need to know if we are going to be having assistance in cleaning up this mess or if we are on our own. The city has already spent everything it has to keep the humans away as it is. I am not demanding from His Grace, I am asking for help. But either way I need to know very soon, to get things moving. I hope you understand."

Emma reaches a hand out and puts it on Maddie's shoulder. "We've been through a lot. I know it was said to Cicero, God Rest His Soul, but... don't take His Grace Carlak's anger at His... um... at Xavier, as anger with you. He knows this city gave everything and then some."
Emma draws a long breath and exhales slowly, as if steadying herself, "Carlak's people spent all week preparing the humans for the idea that a minor faultline under prairie state park was gearing up for a shift. We based our assumptions of major changes to the landscape on the idea that the first assult team felt the earth shake... according to their reports. When we learned that the humans were looking into why this occurred, I'm to understand several noted scientists at the university were taken under the control of some Archons. So... the any damage to the landscape should be covered and excused. The bodies, however, could be left for the sun were it not for the amount of ash, clothing and gear that would be left behind. I think he'd like us to make sure all that is picked up so no humans ask about that."
She looks back towards the path that lead out to this point in the prairie. "The fire department in town was alerted that controlled burns would be occurring out here on the prairie... they won't be coming despite the sight of fire on the horizon and all the rangers are comfortably sleeping in the ranger stations around the park... again, thanks to His Grace." She shakes her head. "Despite it's appearance, His Grace Carlak did more to keep the Masquerade than Xavier was willing to do, despite his brother's urgings. I can only guess that the thing was driving him mad and maybe that is why Art began acting like he did too. Though... it would seem he's feeling much better now. Too bad the same can't be said of Xavier. I can only imagine what this idiocy of his will mean to the Tower."

"Thank you Ms. Fitzpatrick, I'll take care of the rest then, as His Grace has ordered." Maddalena walks back outside, almost in a hurry.
