Mackenzie was quiet the ride in and seems to be soaking in the sights of the night. She sits down where he indicated.
"My name is Mackenzie Steward. I haven't been released long. I figure you might need to know that also."
kendov kept quiet the whole drive to the park stopping at the old rest stop he usuakky keft his car out. over plains land and through high brush kendov opened into a small clearing where the fire smouldered still. throwing a few small logs on the fire he had the small thing buring lowly.
finally looking up from the fire he nodded for her to sit on the opposite side of the fire. " so miss mackenzie what is your full name? i cant quite go to the prince and tell her i know only your first name ."
Mackenzie was quiet the ride in and seems to be soaking in the sights of the night. She sits down where he indicated.
"My name is Mackenzie Steward. I haven't been released long. I figure you might need to know that also."
"you are just recently release? so you know of the traditions." he narrows his eyes and furrows his brow in thought looking her over. " so you are young. our kind do not coddle our childer and as you are released your sire has made it clear to our world that he beleives you walk on steady feet."
"Yes, I know of the traditions and I may be young, but I am not naive." Mackenzie straightens her back. "What do I need to know to survive in this town? Kalie mentioned something recent that happened."
" if your sire didnt tell you hes a fool, the clan gangrel has had shcizm. our last justicar decided he was "leading" us out of the camarilla. now thanks to his ignorance we are stuck in a place where all gangrel must report to an archon to prove thier loyalty to the sect" he prodded the fire harshly as he spoke " have you seen an archon and been proven ? "
"Yes, that was taken care of prior to me coming here." Mackenzie stares at the crackling fire. "So what now? Is there specific people I need to know about? I try to watch my mouth, but I have been told I'm not politically correct most of the time." She shakes her head. "I don't want to cause any problems for our clan."
" you are more considerate than our recent arrivals." he acted as if spitting on the ground to accentuate the point his long fangs now showing in the light permanently out and stained a brownish orange with ages of consuming blood. " for now you will stay with me until i get ahold of the prince. after i speak for you should she decide to grant you acknowledgement you will be free to do as you wish as a free standing member of the camarilla "
Mackenzie's blue eyes catch the firelight as she leans forward, her brown hair framing her face. "Understood. If you could let me know where it's safe to sleep and feed I will stay out of underfoot. I promise for the most part you won't even know I'm here. Once the Prince acknowledges me, I'll be out of your hair."
Mackenzie gets a faraway look and then snaps her attention back to Kendov.
his voice hollows as if speaking from personal experience " i would not rush so fast. you are new to this world of shadows and pain. if you wish to speak with or ask any questions of me feel free. a guiding light in the darkness will keep you from slipping farther away from what you once where. "
Mackenzie closes her eyes, shakes her head, and chuckles bitterly. Her voice contains the same hollow quailty.
"I am new to living only at night, but the shadows and pain have been a part of my life for a long time."
She opens her eyes, but stares at her hands in her lap. "I appreciate your concern, but I'll be fine. I know if I have questions you will be willing to help. I do appreciate that, please don't think I don't, but you won't always be there."
She looks at Kendov. "As you said, our kind do not coddle our childer. My mortal life didn't coddle me either. I never was able to find the emotions needed to form the relationships that tie people together." She looks back to the fire.
