Maxwell looks up from his booth in the corner when one of the waitresses tells him that AJ is waiting for him.
"Send him over," he says gruffly, looking back at the book in front of him.
A.J. walks in to Purgatory dressed casually in his black shirt and blue jeans. He's missing his trench coat this evening. He figured there was no need for it as he was not going to enter the domain of another, who he was looking to make a deal with, armed.
Once inside he walks to the bar and orders a drink and asks for Maxwell. Once his drink arrives he takes it in his hand and turns around in the barstool to face the crowd and wait.

When A.J. is told where to find Maxwell, he tips the waitress generously and slips off the barstool and heads over. He nods to Maxwell and takes a seat across from him and says, "I hope I am not interrupting anything."
"Depends if you're here to piss me off or not," he says without looking up from the book he is reading.

A.J. shakes his head in the negative as he says, "No, I did not come here to anger you. I came here because I am in need of some help. Help that I cannot seem to find anywhere else. I am looking for a teacher."
Maxwell looks up over the edge of the book in his hands his eyes locking on AJ's.
"For what?"

A.J. smiles as he sees he has Maxwell's attention and says, "Speed and strength."
"And?" he says still looking over the book.

A.J. feels a little dumbstruck. He had no idea of what Maxwell was wanting him to say. Rather than assume he knew what Maxwell was expecting he says, "I am not sure I understand the question you are asking. So rather than assume I know, could you elaborate on what else you are looking for?"
Maxwell sighs, closes the book, sets it down in front of him.
"And," he says looking at AJ. "What do you offer?"
