Meeting with Jack (Jack and any that show) 6/28
Looking around as she enters Purgatory, Lydia does not see who she is waiting for. Walking to the bar she orders a drink. Making her way through the people she heads for a booth at the back. She sits down and sends a text to Jack. <At Purgatory meet me here>

Jack shows up shortly after the text. He arrives, pushing his way through the crowds. He glances around nervously for a moment or two as he tries to find Lydia in the mass of people on the dancefloor. Spotting her at a booth, he squirms past a couple of guys about to get in a fight over spilled beer. He arrives at the booth with a slight bow of the head.
"Ma'am." He smiles. "I hope the atmosphere isn't too raunchy for you." He says, loud enough to be heard, as he squirms into the booth to sit across from her.

Lydia smiles at Jack as he sits down "Not at all. Kind of nice to get away from every day life once in awhile."
"Would you like a drink before we discuss business?"

Jack waves the waitress over as Lydia mentions getting a drink. "Martini, extra dry, dirty." he says, and motions to Lydia, as he digs out a twenty from his pocket and slides it the waitress with friendly smile on his face.

Lydia smiles at the waitress "You know that sounds like an interesting drink. I think I will try one."
Turning back to face Jack. "Now, we are not in a big rush, tell me a bit about yourself. What brought you to my city? Like it here so far?"

Jack listens to Lydia's questions and give a quiet chuckle before he answers.
"Up north they got a real problem with the sword. I happened to be someone who looked good enough to be shoveled by one of the sword's packs. Luckily, a good friend in the tower took me in, raised me right."
The drinks arrive, and Jack stirs his as he absentmindedly stares into the vortex of vermouth, olive juice, and gin.
"The head sucker in charge up north wanted me dead because of my circumstance. Said i was a liability to the tower." he grins. "Funny, cause folks here seem to think I'm at least helpful."
He raises his glass slightly, attempting to look through the murky concotion.
"I'm enjoying myself here so far. Lamar is much more free tham Detroit. Even though you-know-who is running around causing problems."
He raises his glass in a toast. "To Freedom."

Lydia nods "Yes you are very helpful. To hell with those from where you came from."
Looking out at the crowd Lydia smiles as she watches those dancing. "Look at them, acting like they don't have a care in the world. The only thing that matters is this moment in time. They are not thinking about what is to come."
Turning back to look at Jack she frowns "yes my brother is a bit of a trouble maker. To bad he had to cross the line. He will get what he deserves though, don't worry about that."
Raising her glass "to freedom" and as she takes a drink she mumbles "whatever that is."

Jack bows his head slightly at the praise, smiling. "I do what i can."
As she speaks about the crowd, he scans them as she watches them dancing and remarks about their interest in the moment. He nods slightly. "Ignorance is definitely bliss."
Jack's eyes widen slightly as she tells him Malcolm is her brother. He quickly shakes his head, as if to clear any thoughts he might have.
He toasts with her, and takes a long drink, nearly polishing off the martini. As he sets it down, he speaks again, moving in close so he can speak quietly.
"So, I wanted to discuss my request. I didn't mean to be too... forward about it. But after seeing what he can do, I wanted to understand how it worked. I want to know why he didn't.. Make me.. err.." He frowns. "Mess with my mind, like he did to you and Eric."

Lydia smiles as she leans forward to speak "Make you into a pile of screaming goo? It is fun I admit it. I do enjoy playing every once in awhile."
Leaning back in her seat "You were not out of line. It is a reasonable request. One I would be happy to help with. I think it is fair payment for saving my life. But we must not do it here. Do you have someplace near we can work?"

Jack shifts uneasily again at the mention of making people into piles of goo. He puts on a nervous smile.
"We can go to my apartment in the pit, unless you have a better idea."
