New Kid In Town- Feb. 7, 2010
He strolls down the street, hands held loosly at his sides. The left one comes up to his face and the glow of a cigarette illuminates it for a moment before dying down again. The smoke blows away rapidly in the cold wind. Without hesitation, he walks up to the door of the Purgatory and steps inside... it would seem to any observer that he has been here before...
He moves in casually, adjusting the round couriers' tube slung on his back slightly and adjusting his Yankees ballcap slightly while making his way to the bar. Blue eyes take in all in the room as he crosses it. Without missing a beat, he takes one of the darts from the top of the bar and tosses it at the picture of Cahill... which hits squarely in the left eye.
With a drag on his cigarette, he glances about the room... his gaze is more than casual, quite piercing actually...
((OOC Description:
JD stands about 6' even and usually wears black pointed-toe cowboy boots, blue-jeans, a grey t-shirt, an old olive-drab Army field jacket and a New York Yankees baseball hat. His build is slender but wiry. His eyes are blue and his hair a very dark (almost black) brown. A beard of stubble covers the usual areas and all of his exposed skin has scars- most very small but some signifigant but not to the point of disfigurement. ))

Maxwell stood behind the bar and watched as the new guy entered and walked towards the dart board. He seemed like he knew the place but he sure as hell couldn't remember seeing the guy around before.
Walking over to the place at the bar near him, leaning across it and tossing his bartender's rag over his shoulder he calls out, "Hey... yes you, new guy, come here." Assuming that he approaches, Maxwell extends his hand to the man.
"Name's Maxwell, I own this dive, have we met before?"
-
"Don't know that we have, Sir... I'm JD." He offers his hand and a slight smile. "Seems like I'm in the right place, you're the man I was looking for."
-
"Is that so?" Maxwell walks around the bar and motions to a corner booth where an imprint of his bottomside can be seen in the bench - clearly he spends a lot of time here.
"Well JD, where you from and what brings you to my corner of hell looking for me?"
-
"I just woke up from a long nap... came out of New York City about three years ago. I'm looking to hang my hat here now, heard you were the man to speak to for someone of my... affiliation." He walks to the boot and takes a seat after inserting the couriers' tube first in the corner within arm's reach.
-
Maxwell takes the tub. "Good to hear someone set you straight. I'm the man to see... though maybe not for much longer." He smiles as if that makes him happy somehow.
"New York, now that's some tough turf. You'll find it's a little more relaxed here... usually. Lately it's been one bad thing after another, hopefully you know how to keep your nose clean."
"You got a place to stay?"
-
"Yeah, I have a place that was set up some years ago. You can find me at the Steel Horse if you know where that is. In New York, I was a deputy of the local law-enforcement office. The bad guys took over, don't know what's going on there now but I figured on a change of scenery. Anyway, I just got in and wanted to get the proper credentials..." JD lets that one hang for a moment then takes a drag off his cigarette, blowing the smoke politely away from the man across the table.
-
Maxwell nods. "I'll make a few calls. There is a little get together on super bowl sunday, I could introduce you to the lady in charge that night if everything comes back clean on your ... shall we say refrences?" He smiles.
"And, as a side note, you do custom bikes then? If so, I've been wanting to get myself a little gift."
-
"I'll lay low until I hear from you... I likely shouldn't come to a gathering until called for," he pulls out a little notebook and writes on a page, tears it out, and slides it to Maxwell.
OOC: note reads Joshua David Holt aka JD, aka Brother Jack. Former Dep. Sheriff- NYC. [insert cell #]
IC:JD smiles, "I haven't personally worked on anything in a long time but if you swing in, I'll make sure my people take care of you."
-
Maxwell takes the paper and then offers his hand at the end of JD's statement. "Welcome to Lamar JD. I'm sure you'll fit right in. I'll give you hollar as soon as I have a meeting set up for you with the boss lady."
