Thread: Seeking ties (attn: Shadow/whoever) 3/8/10

A ways out in the woods, you find a worn path and catch the scent of Shadow. Following it along you come to a small cave entrance, outside it sitting on a rock, his staff leaning in the crook of his arm, the female wolf sitting haunched beside him is Shadow. He holds a pipe in his hand, a tendril of smoke rising from it.

He looks up as you approach and nods, his existing hand makes a motion towards another rock across from him.

"Thank you, sir." Shawn takes the offered seat. "My name is Shawn, and I was wondering if it would be allright to talk to you about our ancestry. I'm not certain who I hail from, but I have asked someone to look into this for me. Anyway, I was wondering if you would be willing to teach me the ways of the Native American, at least according to your ancestry..."

Shadow takes a long draw off of his pipe, looks over at the she-wolf.

"Ancestry . . ." he says. "Well the blood in you runs true, you can feel it I reckon."

He sucks on the pipe again, blowing smoke rings out.

"What is it you seek to learn? Rituals? Hunting?"

"Yes. I'd be honored to learn whatever you deem me worthy to learn, sir."

"I reckon you're worthy of what ever you think you are son," he says with a chuckle.

"Most of the old ways are dead, over. They got stomped out when we lost the war. Though as a Garou, you get a bit more deeper truth going on. Course we're losing that war too. Hell I guess your just twice damned, most of us are."

"The way I see it, sir, as long as one of us remains, it isn't over."

Shadow's wrinkled face stops and looks at you, his eyes squinting.

"Well well, hope springs eternal. Or you just don't know yet. Welcome to the reality son. We're losing, our job is to die. The goal is not so much survival, its dying good."

"Perhaps. But we don't have to die needlessly or without taking as many of them with us as possible."

"Now that is an answer I can appreciate. What do you do boy? What's your auspice and tribe?"
